I read an article on the AFL site 'Canberra games deny club members a game' by Denis Peters AAP.

Malthouse has stated it was unfair that Collingwood members were denied an away game in Melbourne. Their final game of the year was in Canberra. The article also quotes Denis Pagan as saying " There's still 18 or so games back home when you take the Sydney scenario out of it"

Denis you are wrong. North played 13 games in Melbourne and one in Geelong, the rest were at Football Park, the Gabba, the SCG, Subicao, and Manuka.

No doubt the club might be trying to " broaden our horizons and [grow the] membership base''. However I cannot help but wonder if the players have become as browned off as some of us members/supporters with the reduction of a Melbourne presence. In comparison Collingwood only played 4 interstate games.

I understand that our administration is concerned about the bottom line. I wonder if the club would consider playing to 2 home games at Manuka and retaining 9 home games in Melbourne. I know I would be happier.

Agree with everyting you say Hotham 7 home games in Melb is not enough.I think the players have had enough of playing home games interstate in front of pathetic crowds.13,000 to the game yesterday when its supposed to be sold out, dosen't the ground hold over 15,000.

I didn't go yesterday but I was there when it had 11000 (I think??) and I don't know where they would fit the extra 5000. On the roof of the Bob Hawke stand perhaps?
