he took "peel thunder" from bottom of he ladder to a flag one of the hardest things to do as a coach.

Pretty sure Peel never won a flag, let alone under Buddha. Yes i think his coaching record at senior level is not great. But he has done a great job at the Falcons, the number of AFL players he produced from there is nearly second to none. So maybe he is better to a development type role. I think he has something to offer, but not at Geelong while his brother is there.

2 very good mates of mine played under him at Peel and another worked with him at another club he coached, and based on what they have said, I pray he NEVER gets a gig at Geelong. He is apprently one of the moodiest people getting around, everyone treading on eggshells all the time. Borderline manic depressive. Shocking people skills, and generally a bit of a flog. Not to mention an average coach at best. Was SHATTERED when told numberous stories highlighting the above as he was seriously my favourite Cat when he played.

Anybody who spends a significant portion of their life with a whiney family fued probably shouldn't be coaching an AFL club.

Well I'm not sure that the whole family feud thing is his fault (my "friend" network has me reliably informed) - however, having said that the chances of seeing Buddha at the Cats is probably unlikely as long as Steven Hocking is at the club.

Yeah I remember that grand final. Instead of being played at Subiaco Oval it was played on fantasy Island.

Never happened mate. At Peel he didn't seem to do much cept for the odd upset and his outspoken point of view but many people offisde. It's a shame as I loved buddha when he played.

What would it take to get Buddha back to the Cats in a coaching role??

He could implement great game plans like starting every player (every player-all 18) backward of centre at a centre bounce.

No, complete fail.

I think he won 4 games in 3 seasons.

My memory is poor on the stats, but not 'the vibe'.

Do not want at GFC.

Putting aside the family issues, the guy has an ordinary coaching record. Ask yourself why it is that his name never crops up when clubs are looking for new coaches. Loved him as a player but he's not up to AFL standard as a coach. We don't want or need him.

I've heard a lot of this too, sadly. Granted it was through media so probably embellished but there's almost always a grain of truth in what they report

No Buddha.

His coaching record isn't that great, and anyway, we have a group of well credientalled and well performing coaches who know our setups well. Why would we want to push any out for him?
