I have a friend who lives next to Ricky Nixon in Port Melbourne and apparently Ablett Snr moved in about 8 weeks ago for 2 reasons.

1. Nixon was looking at organising a "Tell All" interview something Gaz has rarely done in his career which would get him out of a deep hole that he is apparently in and a bucket load of coin for the pair.

2. He has just come out of a 3 month Drug rehabilitation stay to overcome his problem with illicit drugs.

Ablett had been spotted down Bay st multiple times acting strange thinking random people at cafe's or in the Supermarket were a spy and he even apparently was spotted with his ear to the door of my mates apartment trying to listen in as he thought my friend was a spy...

I wonder why this sort of stuff is never reported in the media? Is it because he is a football god? A lot of people know about his problems and if it was any C or D grade footballer it would be all over the papers but because it's Gary nothing is said about it.

It was reported in the paper that the two were spotted in a lane way fight which, reports from my mate via Nixon was Gary was apparently smashing things in the house and urinating in areas other then a toilet.

So you think a guy who is suffering from mental illness should have his problems amplified by being exposed in the media?

Have a little more class.

This would make for a pretty decent reality tv show. "Chicken Nixon's House"....they just need to get the Wiz, and Brodie Moles to join them.

I still follow Brodie Moles on twitter. He's a rare campaigner. Draft day last year he was posting pics of himself in a dress and demanding AFL clubs draft him.

And it seems to have only gone downhill from there

why from croydon @brodiemoles · Aug 18
I want to **** your little pussy so bad. Make you squeal. I'll shoot my load into you, you shoot your load on the floor @JoeHockey fat ****

What a loose campaigner!!
I had a good laugh at some of those tinder convos.

And at least he is calling D.Moor out for being a hack jockey.

your mate is keeping tabs on ablett enough to know when he moved in, what he's been up to and what he is planning, even though it hasn't been reported in the media.

and ablett is crazy because he thinks your mate is a spy

hmmmm

A better idea for him would be to move in with Tony Lockett. They could reminisce about the glory days while listening to Nirvana.

While Lockett might be portrayed as a bit of a nutter since his playing does, simply because he refuses to do any media or involve himself in footy in any way, doesn't mean he actually has lost his marbles, unlike Gazza - Plugger is probably one of the most down-to-earth, unaffected ex-AFL players I've ever met.

I don't know Ricky nixon personally ..but i believe him to be a low life ...so whats your point ?
My point is, its easy to sit behind a keyboard & talk about how so & so is a scumbag, etc

I could say the same about you, but i wouldn't because i don't know you personally.

Snr has some problems but he's done a lot of good things that don't get reported about.

How many times did The Age or Hun report about him going in to Royal Children's Hospital to see sick kids
Sick kids that he didn't even know, had no connection to in any way.
I dont recall ever reading that, but i know for a fact that it happened. Not just once.

When, how and why did you meet him? I've always been a massive fan of Pluggers and would love to hear more stories!

I did a bit of media work for the Swans a while back and spoke to him a few times — Just a good, down-to-earth bloke, very quiet and almost bemused about why people want to know about him these days. Massive, massive unit.

Thats big of him ...and would take up soooo much of his precious time...I've read an autobiography about the Man ..and let me say he is a less than nice Human being. Fair enough he had a pretty tough upbringing...but his actions as an Adult have been nothing short of abysmal...like i said , he doesn't get a free ride with me because he was a great footballer ..unlike some.

You don't know if he still follows footy? Does he have any opinions on the state of the game? Does he regret whacking blokes back in the 90's?

hes a private citizen, and no current ties to any club

if the guy is struggling, let him handle his demons without the media glaze

I see this thread having a long life.

Why should it be in the media? Whose business is it? He's no longer in the AFL system. Leave him be. This is gutter raking at its finest.

Thread should've ended here.

Not the first time either of you have had to point out the obvious to someone.

he's a genuine character. always a pleasure to read his updates on twitter each day, bit of a nutter though

I wonder if his lifestyle was much different when he was at Geelong and us. He had flashes but never put it together. Maybe because he spent all his downtime chewing his face off.
