Yeah, I would think so too. Whether he could play the role of second fiddle though, is another thing. He's had his own side for so long.Hed be perfect at Gold Coast. Flimsy side would benefit from his discipline

how can you turn down this guy?
Why not an AFL senior coach?Yeah I doubt any club will - would just like to see him rewarded for his work at VFL level - I'm not saying as an AFL senior coach but a role at an AFL club in a lower position.
Ports flag the other year was the result of a very unsettled opposition.
This year though they had a full compliment.
Don’t think he is AFL standard coach, but wouldn’t be surprised if clubs chase him to at least coach their 2nds
Is there any point of him leaving for an assistant's role?
What kind of coin would you be on as a VFL coach?
Probably not a great deal compared to an AFL coach, but I imagine Gary would be on the higher end of the spectrum.
$100k-$140k would be my guessWhat kind of coin would you be on as a VFL coach?

If Ayres gets a Gold Coast gig next year you can guarantee Gazza will leave. His father will make sure about that.
You're a anti-mulletite aren't you?I don't think any AFL club would consider him as senior coach - he's had 2 shots at that and not many coaches get a 3rd chance. (Rodney Eade the exception)
However I think they could possibly at least consider him to their football department in a lesser role.
How dare you!?You're a anti-mulletite aren't you?
Ayres late dad was the local copper and with Ablett Senior being occasionally in strife with the law as a teenager it wasn't a good mix for a freindshipReally? Any reason?
Fairly significant gulf between VFL and AFL. I tend to think the better AFL assistants are well and truly entrenched in the system and I think it'd be great if he was reappointed from a grass roots level, but i highly doubt it with the way the game is played these days.
Long time ago mate. Game is vastly different now. His best bet would be an assistant perhaps. He has already proved he can handle AFL footy IMHO., but not what the Suns need ?
