TG has a better read on Pert than a number of posters on here.
TG only has one read. The name is irrelevant.

Weekend Wrap and "Liked, Learned, Hated" right here -- How did tipping go?

I've always said this. Unfortunately we then dropped the ball after succeeding and went back to perpertual 2 year rebuild. We should have gone 1m miles/hour at another flag even if we paid for it down the track with a proper rebuild.Pert stated that there is no doubt we won the premiership in 2010 because there was a sharp focus by Malthouse due to the fact he only had two more years. He went out and got Jolly and Ball to try and win a premiership. It was the single focus for the club, no talk of rebuilding or building, they just wanted a premiership in Mick's final two years.
Pert wouldn't and shouldn't say they've had a falling out. That would be petulant and unprofessional. Leave that stuff for MM who's been practicing it at pressers for 20 years.Pert might think he hasn't had a falling out with Liberace, but when Liberace was on Footy Classified and he had to say Pert's name, he spat it out with sheer hatred.
The question was presumably driven by commets from Pert earlier this year that we expect to be in a position to win a flag in 2 years. He didn't really say we had a 2-3 year goal. He was aksed the question "Can you win a flag in the next 2 years". Absolutely was his reply. Nothing about a 2-3 year plan. He stated that if we can get our best team on the park, which clearly we haven't been able to do, then we can beat anyone.

Why don't we do that every year?I love the Gary Pert attitude that we focused on winning a flag. Rebuilding talk lacks that desperation and urgency required to win a flag.
Why don't we do that every year?
Thanks for posting that TD.
Thanks for the link Dave, very professional, very astute from Perty
I'm torn on Pert. He reminds me of a manager I used to have that ended up stabbing me in the back. There is a lot of salesman about him and I'm not all that sure he is telling the full truth.
I dare say that he has not told 100% of the story.
There be a Few Things he does not want to Bring up for Personal Reasons or Even might Hurt Collingwood’s Image.
They all do it though
I found it interesting when Mike mentioned that Dunstall thought he was a dirty player. He deflected that one pretty quickly. I don't think you would want to get on the wrong side of him.
Me either. Well look when Tuddy was asked about stuff off-field. He was ready to Knock Mike into next year
Really?I met Tuddy at a function last year. That man is a champion.
Really?
Watching the Tuddy interview on open Mike I got the impression he is a 'me,me, me' Type person. Seemed like the 'I know everything and I am always right' type. Of course one 30min interview is not much to go by.
It has not been more open than it was in 2012 since the late '20s early '30s.That's the million dollar question isn't it? Probably because the premiership window needs to be open, think Freo and Sydney.
exactly correct Jolly and Ball came with a price tag probably close to the 1 Million between them. given the salary cap you can only get a couple of players like that in the club.. " unless your Sydney and cheat the salary cap of course " . ;PThat's the million dollar question isn't it? Probably because the premiership window needs to be open, think Freo and Sydney.
