I would be very surprised to see him in seniors this year. He still has a rod in his leg that needs to be removed offseason and would be a big risk if he aggravated that.

keeps things ticking over. He only played 40 mins and I would expect it would be slowly increased, and let's face it, the NEAFL is quite a few notches down. Then why even play reserves though?

Why is he playing in the 2's then, the risk would be the same in the seniors or the 2's, IMO.

exactly my point. No it wouldn't. In the 2's he can have his game time managed, the pace isn't quite as intense, and not quite as physical.

Shaw hasn't played since round two after battling what the club has described as a "unique" abdominal injury. Rohan suffered a severe broken leg against North Melbourne in 2012.
"We had Gary Rohan and Rhyce Shaw play yesterday. Shaw played his first match and played quite well," he said.
"We hope to get those players back over the coming weeks.
"They are going quite well. Our reserves had a really good win yesterday. But we don't want to rush them either. They need to have a good preparation.
"They have been training really hard and we will sit down during the week and see how those blokes are going."
Longmire said Shaw and Rohan would be "in the mix" for the match against Richmond at the SCG on Sunday."
With the amount of time Rohan has had off a lot of muscles and tendons will be out of condition
