Surely it would be with our 1st rookie pick then? We will look stupid if we delist him and then someone else picks him up before us.

Personally, even though he is a year older, I though he had done enough to stay on the senior list this - I would have though Andy Collins would have been the candiatde to delist then repick ala Chris Hyde about 5 years ago
Yeah but Peterson is already in his 20's and Andy Collins is still only 18.

Certainly means JON won't be delisted then.;)

What it means is we choose Rioli with pick 2. ;)

But seriously, i would be surprised if we didn't recruit at least one Indigenous player this draft, and as an Aboriginal fulla myself, the more the better!

Of recent premiership sides, perhaps Geelong have been the only one that has had less than at least a couple of the 'brothers' playing (and playing well), so it seems part of the modern formula for success. :thumbsu:

If Meyer walks I for one will be furious. Shown nothing for such a high pick and to lose him for nothing would really piss this Tiger off!!!

I agree.
Would have accepted something if Hawthorn had been fair dinkum.
But now he's staying - he's got to put in and show something. ther's still a chance I reckon.

You need to be 30yo by the start of next season, and no player other than Richo will be 30yo by the start next season.:(

Not true.

Joel will be 30 by September 30 next year therefore he qualifies. :thumbsu:

Wow, do you just have the rule book sitting right next to you or something.:p

Also that would mean Kane Johnson, Troy Simmonds and Nathan Brown are eligible as well.

No comment. ;)

However Kane Johnson, Troy Simmonds and Nathan Brown would not qualify due to 13.2 (a), the 10 year service bit.

Oh right, I knew that.:cool::p

So maybe Peterson won't go, as I said before it wasn't 100%, and I would rather him stay on the Senior list.

Maybe, but it's not a bad thing if he doesn't, because that most likely means that we still need his full wage counted in order to be paying the minimum salary cap - we've had a number of retirees and delistments who were on significant money (Knobel, Hall, Krakouer, Gaspar).

It would also explain the monetary logic behind McMahon's deal for those who were upset about it.

Leaves us oodles of cash to retain key players in coming years and do some more shopping for needs as the club's finances improve.

is that supposed to make us feel better?

its a joke that a list as shit as ours is getting the same amount of money than other sides who are making finals on a regular basis

have to agree with this plsc.
proberly one of the leagues worst rules our list should only get 60-70% of geelongs list no where near the 92.5 we currently pay its like throwing money away

Unfortunately it's the rules and if we didnt pay it to them we'd have to give the remainder to make it up to the AFL.

Where would you rather it go?
