Missus just rang and said that Gaz was in her shop, still on crutches. While this is probably just a precautionery measure to keep off the ankle, doesnt sound promising for next week if he isnt walking on it yet...

These rumours about possibly being out for the season better be bloody wrong.

Just reported on SEN, that it is rumoured that he is going to be out for 4 - 6 weeks.

Wendy

just on sen it said he could be out for 4-6 weeks. this would be a tragedy for football and my dreamteam, especially given i only have 2 trades left.

Lies! All lies!

I've heard many Brownlow tips before.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was some scallywag wanting to inflate gaz's odds before plonking down a massive wad of the hard-earned.:thumbsu:

im no medical expert, but from what i saw it looked quite similar to what sean higgins did against melbourne earlier this season... landed on it and rolled it straight over ...

all the best to gablett, and i honestly would have prefered if he and ling were playing this weekend.

who gives a shit about dreamteam??? there are more important things than this affecting your god damn dreamteam and trades.

no need to be so rude. i did say it is a tragedy for footy first and foremost, my dreamteam was just a secondary thing and i obvously care enough about it to write it and believe me the 1000s of coaches who have him will also be caring. i hate to see anyone get injured, especially when it means i have to miss out on watching a talent like gazza.:(

Remember that time that sportsbet put low odds on Mark Thompson leaving to join Essendon. And reports were saying he'd already signed a contract. And it was a sure thing he would go back to Essendon. And then he left Geelong and went and coached Essendon. ;)

i don't understand what you're trying to say. why would bookies put higher odds on gazza if they don't think he won't be out for 4-6 weeks? surely, in that case they'd just be digging their own grave 'cause if gazza does start playing again next week and doesn't get injured again, i reckon he's aa sure thing to take charlie home. the only thing i can gather from what you're saying is that maybe the bookies want punters putting money on all the other contenders thinking they are a bigger chance to win now that gazza is out but that is far far too risky a thing for the bookies to be doing.

Even if this rumour is true and there is significant ligament damage, he will most likely be out for maximum of 6 to 8 weeks, which means he'll be well rested for finals. Lets hope for the best.

Could this possilby be a rumour started by Western Bulldogs to put unwanted attention on our club to try and unsettle us before the game tomorrow? a long shot but not without a chance........

It's ok for my dream team and supercoach team, I don't have him and all the others in my league do. So really, it's good for my team.

Now, Ive got that out of the way, this scares me a little because we all remember Egan last season, appeared OK in a similar type injury and the rest is history. To be honest if he is out for a more lengthy period (4-6) its not that bad because we wont finish lower than 3rd anwyay, and he'll be back for finals. Still, would like some closure on this

Club has encouraged the "pushers" of the rumour to continue pushing it but will expect an apology if and when the rumour is proven incorrect. The club speculated certain companies (coughTAB SPORTSBETcough) maybe involved in such rumours for personal gain.

That is the gist of the clubs statement on SEN.

Just on channel 9. Geelong claiming the reports are unsubstantiated. Nothing changed from earlier in the week.
