Not only that, but it will almost certainly clash when they play their rivals brisbane. Meaning they wont get to wear their official top everytime they have their biggest match of the year.




This gold coast club is just getting more ridiculous. They had so many colours to choose from (even red and yellow)? yet they choose the exact same colours as a club that already exists.


Plus the obvious choice for a nickname was the sharks. instead they have a homo lifesaver. Atleast the GC NRL team has a good name/mascot.

Their blue is a lighter blue than ours. I also heard at the release last night that white would feature. (Red, yellow, blue and white).

After a little more thought, I think the wierdest thing is the fact its almost identical to Brisbanes colours.

Perhaps the Gold coast "Strops" might have been more appropriate.

I woudl have thought Bondi Life Savers are more famous than gold Coast.

And they shoudl be wearing a sky blue - looks better.

Last point - Why didn they just flog some SLS gear and wear that? Gold white and Sky blue were the way to go - you've cocked it up GC17.

i think their colours should've just been gold/blue or gold/red. i'm hoping it's vertical stripes though...and my goodness; i don't like that mascot...that's not official is it? are they like the gold coast lifesavers or something. i don't mind the guernsey it's wearing though...yellow and red top, with blue shorts.

maybe it's temporary...just to show what the guernsey might look like. they haven't picked out a nickname yet, have they??? because if it's an animal, then the mascot would change.

The colors, while an issue for us, I think they are a much bigger issue for the Brisbane Lions. Look at the shade of red in the picture, its closer to maroon, the blue and gold are VERY similar shades to what the Lions wear.

If I was involved with the Lions in any way, I would be PISSED OFF big time!

I don't think that mascot will be involved in the promotion of the club much. Every club has a mascot drawn in that similar style. Carlton and Freo have similarly gay mascots.

It's just an AFL promotion for kids.
