Main points so far;

  • Josh Hunt running laps
  • Chapman training with the main group
  • Mooney, Rooke and Ottens not out there.
  • Mumford not training but it in his training gear. (probably trained with the VFL squad)
  • Varcoe is out there training.
  • No sign of Gary Ablett. (Jay Clarke where are you? Get a link on herald sun saying he is in doubt)

Not surprised that Rooke and Ottens are not training. They will have a light week until Thursday I'd say.

Midday update:
  • Enright, Harley, Hogan, Byrnes, Blake, Ling and Gamble were among first group of players emerging for training.
  • Rooke looks to have gone into gym.
  • Corey left a bit earlier than the rest of the group, but he left without medical people so that looks OK.

Was there although got there late after training had already started. Wojo was out at one stage as i saw him walking in but he wasn't with the main group so i hadn't noticed him. Selwood is always late to emerge every single week not sure why. Although considering he emerged with wet hair he had possibly just come back from the pool. I did see Rooke come out just before the players headed in although he was wearing trackies and a t-shirt and putting on a jumper. So not sure what he had been doing. Was pleased to see Varcoe and Chappy out there although that really doesn't mean anything as it was only light training. Ottens did come out later but i didn't pay any attention to what he did when he came out.

I haven't actually seen Ottens or Mumford come out and train with the main group so that doesn't worry me that Mumford wasn't out there as i still think he has a chance to play this week. Same thing with Harley, him not being out there with the group is usual.

No Mooney out there stuck out. Was only just taking note of who wasn't there when Selwood and Hawkins finally walked out.

Was a bit surprised. Enright managed to keep his hands out of his shorts for the entire time i was there. Which is quite unusual.

Oh and Josh Hunt out running is nothing new. 6 weeks ago was the first time he came out to run since the injury i believe. He almost fell in a hole on the other side of the field and when he came back he joked about almost doing his knee yet again. He ran 4 or 5 laps of the oval then and has taken part in every Monday morning session since. Not sure what other training he has been doing during the week etc. but as i said to a few people 6 weeks ago. He is going to get back to pretty much 100% just after the season is over. Would be irritating that's for sure.

Was about 5 times as many people as usual. Although the people "cleaning up" after Saturdays game were annoying me. Leaf blowers blowing rubbish into all the fans there is not quite my opinion of cleaning up..

After the training session it was unusual not to see any players headed for the pool etc. Josh Hunt was out doing some boxing but that was it.
Well i did see D. Johnson and Ablett leaving. Obviously Ablett is to precious to drive himself. But yeah usually you see quite a few players in the car park just after their Monday morning sessions.

Is traning only restricted to Members ??? And if not what times do the boys normally train ?????

Their Monday morning training/recovery sessions are 11am on Mondays open to the public. Best to call the club in the morning to make sure it is still on. A very good chance to get autographs if you need too. Either when they are going down the race or when they are walking to the pool afterward. Not sure if there will continue to be open sessions now that finals have started. You would have to phone the club to find out. Other than that i don't have any info on any other training sessions.

Grand final week they will be i guarantee it especially if a star player is under doubt.

yeah if we make the granny ill bet some media reps will try and pay off a couple of the contractors building the new stand to get them some sort of access. even if only for contractor to take a quick photo or some mobile phone video footage

Or they would have no work done during Grand Final week. Reporters will just simple have to rely on helicopters again.

its amazing the lengths some of these people will go to to get a good shot of someone. Maybe they should all go to and from their cars to the rooms in nixon masks like maxy did last year (or year before?)

They should all shave their heads and wear Gary Ablett masks. Would be hilarious.

Or they all went to their cars on crutches, or with an arm in a sling. Could you imagine the headlines? Jay Clark would think all his christmases had come at once. :D
