The thing with the Boyd deal is that it hasn't stopped them signing any of their players up,BUT, is that a premiership winning side? I think not and what Boyds salary is doing is stopping them from going hard at any free agents or trades.
It's going to end up costing them a flag imo.

Well he does have a point - the young Punter did like a drink and became a much better player for Australia once he controlled it. Would never have been captain if he hadn't changed.

Might be just the thing for Boyd -although I suspect that part of the Doggies response is contract related - ie strike one of a future get out clause.

Just listened to Mark Robinson, Andrew Gaze and Tony Schibechi try to explain how the Father/Son bidding system works. A Pies fan asked how they can get both Brown and Daicos with no first round pick.

Robbo said they will just use the next pick. Gaze said they cant get both because they wont have enough points. Tony said that if a team nids in the first round the Pies are out because they themselves dont have a first rounder to match the bid.

All 3 then asked amongst themselves what happens to the player if the bid isnt matched and nobody knew. Robbo fell on the position that they "go into the draft and ya just hope they get through."

This is the Chief Football Writer for the biggest selling paper in the country, a radio host with years and years of experience and a basketballer who supposedly represents the 'common fan' and between them they had NFI how one of the most crucial parts of list management, something that is a pillar of talkback for the offseason (the draft), actually works.

This is it exactly. They lost out on Carlisle because they werent in the ballpark. Who else will they miss out on with this bloke taking 1.5 mill of the SC.
Saints @ 95% this year, can spend 105% next year.
