Week in, week out, people go to the football to watch football, by and large it is done in a manner where these same people enjoy a small diversion in their lives and ride some emotive responses between yay and boo, which we can't do because it's racist so instead we'll say pooh, so we can ruin another childrens story with over-reactive PG13 nonsense (yes, I'm bitter, the kookaburra had a gay life as in happy you #$%^'s).

I would like to sincerely apologise for my behaviour on Saturday night at the Showdown.

To the entire Port Adelaide Football Club community, I deeply regret any embarrassment I have caused as a result of my actions.

I apologise to Eddie Betts and the Adelaide Football Club as it was never my intention to cause harm or distress to your players or supporters.

Going to a game of football is meant to be a fun and enjoyable event for all and I apologise for ruining it for so many.

I regret my momentary lapse of judgement and I did not attend the game with the predetermined attitude of bringing the game into disrepute or to offend anyone.

Unfortunately, the emotions of the game got the better of me and I hope you all accept my apology.

I will accept the sanctions given to me as a result of this incident, with the strongest understanding that there is no place for this kind of behaviour.

The only reason this is a thing, is because she got busted, and in being busted, she got reprimanded, as a grown adult who can vote, drink booze, drive a car and unfortunately procreate the add to the human gene pool. You don't sit there behind a fence with a clear understanding that we're not in the middle east, we're not in India, we're not in England and we don't need rings of steel or a giant police presence because we're feral, because we're not, we're larrikins with a she'll be right sort of attitude who know, mostly when to check our shit at the door.

You throw shit at a person, when their back is turned no less since it's not like she didn't just watch Eddie effectively go "lookit me, I just goaled, aren't I great?" and then go off to celebrate for a little bit with his mates before said shit was thrown, your intention is to throw shit, at that person, and hopefully hit them because he or she is a tall poppy and you're pissy it isn't you. I entirely get the woman in question wants to be seen as doing the right thing, learning that lesson, being the responsible adult who owns up to making a mistake but it's such an easy thing to bullshit in an apology.

I mean, it'd be different if she punched him in the face yeah? "it was never my intention to cause harm and or distress" wouldn't really fly, or if the banana hit, say, as Eddie was facing her, with the tip to the eye. That it didn't and unfolded as it did was chance, fate, divine goddamn providence whatever you want to chalk it up as, the intent, was to vent, was to cause embarrassment with the same chances for harm or distress as there was for a storm in a teacup to occur.

#$%^&n own up to it. You want the general public in your 5 minutes of goddamn fame to think that you have some sort of balls tucked up in that pissy little handbag you carry on a Thursday night beer run you say yup, I screwed up, no if and or buts that I was thinking of unicorns and pixies at the time and aww how cute, it was wrong, bad me, do better and I hope to #$% up less in the future.

Extra lols for the going into the game to not offend anyone line as well, I mean, yup, your voice as part of thousands was loudest, shrill cry of the banshee meets siren song where all listen to the words that are coming out of your moth regardless of what's going on around them at the time. You're not a member of the football public who has ever called a player a hack, belittled their person, ability anything associated with them lol taxi, geddit, he drunk. Offense is a funny thing, you can make a observation a circle is round and someone might be offended because it's not a true circle and therefore it is not round and whilst you never intended anything but an observation, you caused offense. What this boils down to it shit happens.

tl;dr I regret I read the quoted stuff. End transmission, and hopefully Adelaide as well, I still hate you for '97 you $%^&*&n $%^&*ers.

Shocking decision for the women to throw the banana at Betts but I will give her credit for apologising and taking the awareness course. She could have easily taken the easy option out and stayed low but I think shes realised her mistake and hopefully she can learn from it. Classy stuff from Betts as well, have a lot of respect for him.
