I wouldn't worry about last nights game too much. Eagles were cooked before the lightning. An extra half hour break did them wonders and we lost all our energy.

I'm struggling to think of another game this year where we almost coughed up a comfortable lead.
It may well be me being paranoid, Now that I think about it it's usually close and we kick away at the end (hawks game, north game.)

Yeah the only other one I can think of was Adelaide where we were 17 points up with 7 minutes to go and lost but that game never felt comfortable.

Definitely not enough evidence to say there is a pattern.

Our biggest worry is our goalkicking inefficiency imo.

Let's hope we can beat Adelaide and give ourselves a good look at top spot. Games between us, Cats and Dogs look to be a matter of who plays better on the day. If we're going to do something in the finals though we should fancy our chances against Port in Melbourne or even a neutral location

That game haunts me, drove 8 hours, confident, hadn't lost a game, parents wanted to go to a game we wouldn't lose, I had a bad feeling on that drive..... Heartbreak after it.
All well and good then, choose to go to the gws game, gets bad feeling again.
Every game I've gone to since 2018 we've lost (excluding 2018 semi).
To add to that, I went to rnd 1 2018 when max gawn missed, then went to rnd 18 when zac touhy well... did not miss

Please don’t go to any more of our games.

You'd be staggered if the Crows don't cut him, and rightly so.
I'm all for forgiveness and making sure people have a way back from mistakes but for what Walker reportedly said in this situation, don't think it sends the right message for him to get a farewell year which would undoubtedly turn into a PR-driven "see look what a good bloke he is learning from his mistake" propaganda exercise.
Different story if it was a 19 year old who hadn't had 12 years of education about this type of thing.

Well given what happened to them wrt the 2018 preseason "camp" iirc, I wouldn't be surprised if Tex stays. There is still a stench of the old culture over there.

There might be a change of culture happening, but it takes a lot longer than three years to turn it around, there are still pieces of the core that was around when Pyke was coach. Once those are gone i.e. Tex, Sloan, Mackay etc... then there will be a much stronger change in culture over there.

The Crows off field are a shitshow though. The SANFL old boys club is real there

Well that's what I mean though. You have to be kidding yourself if after 2-3 years there are "clean" . And, as you've outlined with them being a old boys club, they are in a lot more troubling waters ahead. Even successful clubs takes a long time to lose that toxic culture into a welcoming and wining one.

A full clean-out is needed. From top to bottom. Nicks isn't the man to lead them. He is just a transitional coach until someone much better comes along.

5 Dees in the 22 & under squad

Jackson, Pickett, Rivers, Petty & Jordan

Handy youth when you are sitting on top of the ladder

It is very realistic than we will have 11 players (half our best 22) in either the AA squad or 22 and under AA squad

Bowey would be a show in the 22 under 22 next year if he keeps this up

Hey guys, I posted this is another thread because i didn't know where the most traffic is but i'm really getting over players with low IQ in our team. I'm getting sick and tired of players not understanding clock management and game momentum. In all of the photos below the players kicked the ball long and ignored the smart option. In all cases a short eaay option was on offer but we chose to continually kick it along and feed into wce's momentum and feed into the crowd providing them with that momentum. The coaches are also responsible for this. Players need to understand that the clock is our friend and if one or 2 players had of actually used their brain then one or 2 minutes off the clock would've snuffed the game out 10 minutes earlier. How is it that full time professionals have absolutely no clue when it comes to game momentum and clock management.

I agree 100% and we haven'tr had good clock management when it comes to the end in close games and our players aren't the smartest bunch but they've probably been coached to go long down the boundary if there's no clear, open short option available.
Granted those options you've highlighted look good but if there's a skill error that leads to a turnover or a short kick called not 15 play on, those players would be crucified for not going long down the line.
We need to at least work on running the clock down scenarios in training, especially coming into finals.

I actually think in all cases bar the last one there is too much risk in the short kick - either an opponent is too close or the kick is likely to be called not 15 (the umpires were on that hot on Monday - unless it was a 7m inside 50 hit up for West Coast).

The close player needs to get more space and separation... dont think its the kickers fault.
