BREAKING: Tom McDonald and Ben Brown have signed two year extensions
Was reported he was going to meet with his family in SA to talk about it all during Gather Round so would think IF he was going to re-sign it would be at least a couple of weeks away.Rivers signing on yesterday, McVee today. Chances of Kosi being announced tomorrow?

You’d hope the treatment Jackson got in the media is helping Melbourne’s position by strongly showing the ‘why it’s not a great idea to go to a two team town on big bucks and big expectations this early in your career’ argument to convince Pickett to stay for at least another couple of years. Was reported he was going to meet with his family in SA to talk about it all during Gather Round so would think IF he was going to re-sign it would be at least a couple of weeks away.
Yeah hopefully - along with the Hogan case study and think I remember reading somewhere that the Wiz was quoted saying he wished he had stayed at Melbourne. You’d hope the treatment Jackson got in the media is helping Melbourne’s position by strongly showing the ‘why it’s not a great idea to go to a two team town on big bucks and big expectations this early in your career’ argument to convince Pickett to stay for at least another couple of years.
He's a match winner. He has abilities no other player on our list has. He'd be a huge loss. I hope he stays. Genuine 50/50 I reckon. I hope he sees us as a good chance for success next few years.Yeah hopefully - along with the Hogan case study and think I remember reading somewhere that the Wiz was quoted saying he wished he had stayed at Melbourne.
He's probably my fave current player, but tbh I wouldn't totally hold it against him if he went back for family given he's tight with them and lost his mum. Would still be shattered though, we're so much more vanilla without him.
Good list. I'd replace Jonesy with the ox, I reckon he went hard in his hayday.3 former players to get on the lash with:
Jakovich
Vince
Jonesy
Go in expecting a quiet Sunday session. Walk out with a second mortgage on your house.Good list. I'd replace Jonesy with the ox, I reckon he went hard in his hayday.
Very entertaining discussing Mark Neeld after a few cans.Good list. I'd replace Jonesy with the ox, I reckon he went hard in his hayday.
Jack Watts would be the life of the party

PLAYERCARDEND. I’ve talked to all of them for a bit and they are really nice. OMac in particular was a hoot. And it would be interesting to chat to TMac about meat, BBQ and some of his political theoriesPLAYERCARDSTART25Tom Mcdonald

That’s not very nice.Linguistic descriptivism is the way to go.![]()
Ok, I don’t know where to put this.
But how on earth has the “It’s their 1 Wood” analogy gained traction? I see it everywhere now.
It’s meant to represent what a team or person goes to first, what they are best and most reliable at.
As a very mediocre golfer, the 1 Wood is actually the club it’s the most difficult to hit with consistency.
The pay off of using a 1 wood well can be high, but when it goes wrong (which was often for me) it’s disastrous.
You don’t even use the 1 wood on par 3s, and often you don’t on par 4s if accuracy is required or there’s a dog leg.
Pro golfers sometimes spurn their 1 wood for a more accurate and reliable 3 wood.
Anyway, this 1 wood thing just annoys me as a footy analogy. It doesn’t make sense.
That's funny, for me personally the idea of having a conversation with a MacDonald is my idea of hell. Like I'm feeling anxious just thinking about the idea.If I can throw in a couple of past players I think I would pick Oskar Baker and Oscar and Tom McDonald.
