If an organisation itself is implying that working for free will eventually result in a paid position within the same organisation, yeah that's definitely very dodgy, and illegal, I'd suggest. But offering a bit of experience in the industry to pad out your resume is less sinister, I think. If MFC has done any of the former, then yeah, hang em for it. If it's the latter, it's ok by me. I guess the problem is, you might actually end up working there... so yeah, I see your point. To avoid trouble, you'd really have to spell it out in the job description. "This is for your short term work experience and not part of a career progression within MFC".Any sort of encouragement of this practice of 'do free work for us and we totally promise it'll eventually pay off, maybe, possibly, well who knows' is bad. This is only a minor example of it, but it's still not on.
