I actually think in all cases bar the last one there is too much risk in the short kick - either an opponent is too close or the kick is likely to be called not 15 (the umpires were on that hot on Monday - unless it was a 7m inside 50 hit up for West Coast).

The close player needs to get more space and separation... dont think its the kickers fault.

Fair call. I personally disagree. I think they're all 20-25m in most of the photos. But nonetheless, the players with the ball didn't even look for the short option. They didn't have their head on a swivel which I think is concerning.

If they are kicking to a stagnant target it gives the Eagles players heaps of time to get to them. If they are kicking to a lead then they are running the risk of having the mark not be paid.

Hey guys, I posted this is another thread because i didn't know where the most traffic is but i'm really getting over players with low IQ in our team. I'm getting sick and tired of players not understanding clock management and game momentum. In all of the photos below the players kicked the ball long and ignored the smart option. In all cases a short eaay option was on offer but we chose to continually kick it along and feed into wce's momentum and feed into the crowd providing them with that momentum. The coaches are also responsible for this. Players need to understand that the clock is our friend and if one or 2 players had of actually used their brain then one or 2 minutes off the clock would've snuffed the game out 10 minutes earlier. How is it that full time professionals have absolutely no clue when it comes to game momentum and clock management.

If the Grand Final ends up being away from Victoria and two Victorian sides are in it surely Adelaide is a preferred alternative to Perth. If it's a scenario where Victorians are out of lockdown and the govt just doesn't feel comfortable having 100k at the MCG at least it opens up the opportunity for Victorians to make the feasible trip to Adelaide.

Agreed. If the dees made the granny I would totally try and get to Adelaide to see it, but just couldn’t afford to get to Perth. Adelaide Oval is a fantastic stadium, don’t think it’d be a downgrade from Optus either in terms atmosphere.

I wouldn't wanna watch us in a GF without a crowd. Would be more than a tragedy
i'd want it wherever a crowd was just so as many dees people can get there, sucks for us but good for them i guess

Having that horrific canned cheering at a GF would be a travesty of the highest order. Would prefer they played it at a country footy ground with 200 locals sinking cans than an empty stadium
Would be great hearing 20 car horns going off after each goal.

Unpopular opinion I’d rather us play a GF in front of a capacity crowd in Adelaide or Perth than an empty mcg.
wouldn't be an unpopular opinion I wouldn't have thought

Great interview with May

Yeah he is a bloody superstar

Happy to eat my words with his recruitment although after his first 12 months I think alot of us were nervous. But his last 2 years has been immense. Close to our most important player imo. Lever gets alot of the accolades but Mays ability to lock down the opposition KPF, intercept and even set up play is unrivaled in the league.

You can see that team try to play a decoy on him to get him away from the play.

Also it is the first time I can remember that we haven't had a game all year where the oppositions KPF has tore us apart and had a big game. Walker and Hipwood are the only two that had dominate patches against us I can think off. And Greene in the first GWS game but he isnt a KPF

He peforms well in the VFL when not injured and can play on talls and smalls.

Think he'll only ever really be an athletic stopper who can play a role, but handy enough to hold onto
