Yeah when him and Schwab came back it was a massive boys club. They totally threw Bailey under the bus

He did it to protect his job. He still did it but was put in a horrible position.

Bailey was the coach, he literally had to do what the board and footy department told him to do. Pretty sure in his exit press conference he pretty much said he didn't like it either.

I am still retaining some hope that the Dees may choose to play a final in QLD. Not sure how I would go travelling to Perth, Tassie or SA, I guess no point checking until closer to the time

Not a chance. Would expect hub plans to be drawn up now, play games across SA, QLD, TAS and WA. GF in Perth.

We'll be watching the game on the couch at home.

Zero chance of any finals in Melbourne, it’ll all be in Perth. It’ll also explain why they want to scrap the pre finals bye as it’s an easier sell to players if they hub for a maximum of 4 weeks.

Getting players who are in the finals into hubs wont be a hard sell, the extra week would make no difference imo

Scrapping the pre finals bye has everything to do with Victoria, NSW & parts of Qland in lockdown. Playing the finals in Tassie is not a realistic option and SA has unrealistic quarantine rules. So the AFL only has WA and will want to get as much of the finals played as quickly as possible in case WA goes into a snap lockdown and cause further delays

Yup I think that's part of why leaving the bye up their sleeve. Apparently the MCG doesn't give a shit about crowds they want the GF in Melbourne

If we beat Geelong (or even if we don’t) my plan is to head to Tasmania to isolate with family for two weeks. Giving me freedom to travel to Adelaide or Perth as required if I’m able to get tickets.

Never would be able to do this if my entire industry wasn’t stood down due to Covid and would regret it immensely if I didn’t have a crack at getting there…

Not if the Dogs beat Port by more than we beat Geelong by. Conversely, if Port win and we win, we likely play Brisbane. Fairly unlikely we get Geelong if we win.

Going to be difficult to rest any more than 4 players because I'd assume we will still have to name our team Thursday night and the Dogs and Power don't play until Friday night. Kinda guessing we wouldn't go and do as Fremantle did against St Kilda all those years ago.

They won't. It's all so they have a week up their sleeves to get the GF in front of crowds. It won't be before the prelim. It'll be after.
