I thought I'd share this one here.

I was involved in coordinating Auskick for a while. There was this little Chinese boy there who knew nothing about footy, he didn't have a team. I gave him my daughter's hand-me-down Melbourne top with #1 and Jesse Hogan signature on the back.

I saw him wearing it the next year to Auskick.

At today's junior club's B&F they had the Melbourne Sydney game on the TV. I saw this kid going berserk when Kozzie Pickett kicked a goal, with his mum standing next to him clearly with no idea what was going on in the game.

I look forward the next update in 15 years when he becomes Melbourne's premiership captain!

An entire decade for 55 wins. :embarrassedv1:

Just Trac and Viney in the AA squad of 44 this year. Makes sense with the amount of footy that the likes of Oliver, Gawn and Fritsch missed, plus May's form being down a bit on previous years.

Happy that Jack is getting some recognition

This time last year, we had a procession of idiots saying that Jackson is no great loss and Grundy will be an upgrade on Jackson.

Now we have Grundy playing for the Casey Globetrotters whilst Jackson has been named in the AA squad.

I think Trent Rivers is stiff not to be in the 44. Not a realistic contender for the 22 but looking at the full squad he should be in it.

Clarry and Fritta only kept out by injury so otherwise I think our low representation is fair enough

Hey it's me, I'm said idiot!

To be fair, Jackson only rocketed into contention when Darcy went down. When he was playing as a KPF early in the year, Freo fans were losing their minds that they had been ripped off yet again.

Grundy was good as sole ruck in the middle of the year, but yes, it was an error thinking that him and Gawn could fully split the role.

Can't really see a player of similar role that he would replace, there are (unsuprisingly) way more midfielders picked than would ever be in an actual team though. Definitely had a great season, stiff to miss the u22 team.

Yeah, think he should get in before Mason Redman. Had a ripping year.

Me too

Jayden Hunt fourth in the Eagles' BnF. Good on him, that's an awesome result, but wow that says a lot about the WC efforts this year.

Similar to when Dean Terlich finished 3rd in ours, decent indication of how your season went.

What a time to be alive...

The moment Roos realised just how badly we needed his help.

And we are in the top 4 playing better than we did this time last year while having a top 6 pick as well.

So what is your point?

Matt Jones beside him in that pic. Didn’t he come second? What star power!

I think Matt Jones was a good battler. He was limited but was absolutely a better player than someone like James Jordon who is a premiership player/sub

He was but wow was that a thin midfield. The poor campaigners having to come up against Cats, Pies, Saints and Hawks midfields 7 or 8 times a season back then. The Cam Schwab ‘Whiteboard Wednesdays’ days.

Stood out amongst some sub AFL standard team mates and kids. Accumulated a lot more ball in the full time wing role and provided run but I don’t think there was any focus on his quality of disposal given how bad the team was at everything else. A good recruit for them at the start of a rebuild.

Nath Jones Redlegs beat Dane Swan's Pines today 82 to 69 in the MPFNL semi. Neither set the world alight and both started the final qtr in the backline [emoji1745]
