Here's a thread to discuss interesting cases, but cases not worthy a dedicated thread.

A man has been found dead after allegedly assaulting a Melbourne protective services officer (PSO) and stealing his gun.
Police say the officer was on patrol near Parliament House when he was hit on the head several times with a hammer around 8:30pm (AEDT).
It is believed the attacker then took the PSO's gun and fled through Fitzroy Gardens toward Jolimont.
Police believe the offender then turned the gun on himself in a park near the corner of Wellington Parade South and Jolimont Terrace, near the MCG.

I actually think this can work Silent Alarm but I think it needs a change of name, to something likecurrent crime events and it may need to be regionalised like Crime Events Victoria, Crime Events WA. So I’m chucking the idea that this thread, which is a great idea receive a name change to Current Crime in Australia.... or something to that effect. @Caeser do yuo think you could give it a look?

As the crime Silent alarm alludes to was hardly minor, a PSO in the grounds of Victorian Parliament House having his gun removed from his possession so close to the sitting of the parliament.

My initial thoughts given the apparent suicide we were looking at an attempt at death by cop but the reports are it was an effective sneak attack from behind. As to what transpired is strange too, suicide in the vicinity of the MCG. This could be inspired by Schizophrenia or drug induce psychosis, but that’s all hypothetical and guess we’ll need to wait for the coroner.
