Isn't there normally one of these?

All questions not related to players in here.

First off from me, how many rookies (therefore, players to be upgraded) are people planning on starting?

I have 7, but can get 6 if I don't get the super premiums like Pendlebury/Ablett/Franklin...

Would 7 be the usual?

No, i think Liam means how many rookies are people starting on the field (as compared to on the bench) in their teams for round 1?

Good thread...

This. Was kinda the point I was trying to make.

Would of thought this year most teams will be starting or trying to squeeze maybe around 14-15 'keepers' and will be looking at upgrading around 7-8 rookies / mid rangers. Sounds and looks ultra standard from other years in SC

Same difference?

"Players to be upgraded" would be non keepers right? Which is just asking how many 'keepers' you are starting with, right?

What's your problem??

If you want to spin it that way, then fine. I wasn't trying to hide anything, was just asking?

Wasn't hard was it.

Wouldn't have thought a thread where people could ask questions relating to strategy and rules was worse then a lot of threads about the same questions.

Easy mate. Not hard at all. Don't get ya knickers in a knot.

My guess was that a guess. Just seems to be the standard year in year out. Cram as many keepers in team as possible and work from there. That is my strategy once again. Maybe just view the 'Rate my Team 2012' thread and that will give you a good idea

What do you do in this situation?

you have picked your team and you couldn't be happier with your premiums, but you have one midfield spot left to fill and only 450K to spend

Do you take a barlow or lenny hayes type who will most llikely score better in the short term but most likely wont score enough to be a midfield keeper

Or

Take a DPP player like a dangerfield or higgins with potential to be a keeper once you move them into the forward line

Disclaimer. Not suggesting anyone should pick higgins ever again but he fits the mould of player im talking about

interested in peoples thoughts on this one

regardless of the disclaimer i stopped reading at "Higgins" - sorry but it seemed a normal reaction every SC person should have

Slot another rookie in and use 300k elsewhere

I'd back Barlow in in that situation. Even over picking a rookie and upgrading elsewhere. I'm still trying to figure out how to get Barlow into my team.

Don't take offense to this but anyone who has a "locked in" team at this stage will still be making a lot of changes before round one. There will be injuries, form slumps, role changes and players missing selection. I wouldn't worry too much about having your team right and using up all your cash just yet, it's way too early for that.

none taken was merely a hypothetical... the players will change a million times before lockout but the structure i want to go with keeps putting me in that position.

I simply thought it was discussion worthy do you take 14 keepers and a bloke who will scrore well for his price but probably wont be top ten scorer in the all important midfield or do you push for a 15th keeper who wont score as well.

Thanks for the feedback anyway blokes

Yep, fair enough, point taken. Personally unless the mid pricer was someone I thought was going to be a keeper or was going to increase enough in cash to be traded out, I wouldn't touch them. If your team was perfect everywhere else, I'd rather find a cheaper player who could fit the cash cow option and leave cash in the bank for a future upgrade rather than getting someone more expensive just for the sake of using up all your cash.

Hey Guys, Has anyone spotted the AFL 2012 Prospectus in newsagencies or a Kmart as yet or is it still solely through the online order service? Thanls in advance.................

I tried to buy it from multiple newsagency's 3 years ago, but they had sold out their small stock. Never got my hands on it that year. Since 2010 I have been ordering online. Hassle free, and arrives within a couple of days. I ordered a copy on Wednesday. Hopefully my bible arrives soon

Was going to start a new thread but thought I would ask the question in here first.

Supercoach Draft

Some mates and I wanted to start a league where all our inital teams would be chosen based on a draft style selection process.

Therefore no team would start off with an identical player.

I have heard of people doing this in the past and was interested to know how they went about it.

Supercoach Gold did this last year, with a live draft at a set time.

Costs like 20 bucks i think, but gives you early access the following year to SC, and a nice stats package with break evens ect

Super keen for Feb 1...

Anyone know or have heard when the iPhone App for Season 2012 will be released?

Hopefully they take the feedback on board from last year from the ratings/comments it got in the iTunes store. It was a handy app, but hopefully they improve the functionality and kill off the advertising on it...

Does anyone know a place where I can get a salary calculator? I want to start having a look at trading strategies but I dunno how to calculate price flucuations.
