ODN's "It would be so easy to save the blues thread" gave me an idea.
If someone from bigfooty knew how to do this wouldn't it be grand. $2.20 a week direct debited from your bank account and by rd. 1 2008 be able to hand it to the blues. if 50 bigfooty posters got behind this that's $5,720 into the club. i think we should then organise with the club a little morning thing at training or before the rd 1 game to meet a few of the players and present them the cheque.I'm not sure how you could set up a direct debit program but if that would work on a savings account my hand would be the first one up. If anybody thinks this is a good idea, would like to take part or know's how to set up a safe direct debit program i think it would be a great way for us from BIGFOOTY to help the club.

exactly and if we bump it up to $3.00 a week with 100BFMembers involved thats $15,00. direct debit makes everything so easy. how do u set one of these things up, i'd be happy to do it

I don't have Internet Banking either AWG, as I really don't need to use it. All you would have to do is go into your local branch and tell that you want to deposit x amount into this bank account on a weekly basis.

I've done it before and it worked out fine.

i could do this with any everyday account and as hbf said before just going to your bank and saying x amount on a weekly basis would be good if that works. and cause im under 18 no fees apply. so go us. carlton are getting free money with no fees. so all i need to do is set up an account. i could to that tomorrow because im around the bank. But i'd say best to wait, maybye while im there tomorrow ill ask if i can get a exact account and benefits etc.. and maybye a big cheque that we could fill out to give to carlton. i know the manager at my local anz branchand he's a diehard blues fan. ill try and get in touch with the club tomorrow and see what i can organise.

Same principle guys, except some are going to be dubious about where the money goes. I have another suggestion. Every year we do the Kennedy sponsorship, however there are some player sponsorships that don't get filled. If we simply increase our sponsorships, players aren't left out, BF gets plenty of publicity and the money still goes to the club. Everyone can then see where their money is going AND everyone that contributes will get a BF subscription each year as they are paying more than $20 in contributions.

Also there will be more spoils in terms of function invitations, guernseys, memberships and so forth.

I don't mean to sound too negative, but you'd be better off putting that money towards a paid business seminar for Smorgan and his board. You can't seriously think that money will start a cycle of good investments and clever business strategies. Various banks (or the AFL) will claim that cash within weeks.

You guys earnt that money, and you should put it towards saving for that dream boat. And for you under 18s, with uni coming up, you'll need that money more than anyone. Trust me on this.

I just think some of us are sick and tired of all of the negativity coming out of PP since the season ended, and if we can raise some extra cash for the club, then we feel like we are doing our bit, and a bit extra as well.

lol much better. and if anything i wanna sponser murphy. im all for the support players and i know the good ones cost more, taken quicker, leaves the lesser known ones out. but id rather it go towards something else.

and the presentation of the novelty cheque.
and hopefully carlton will present me with a novelty chick
