MM yesterday said that he will not coach ever again after this weekend.
Obviously Craig is in no hurry in making a decision. We should offer Mick Coaching Director.
I think Mick's statement will put pressure on Craig to make a decision quickly. At the moment its seems he has 5 clubs all over him, that can change very quickly.
On a few times this year he has said punt road feels like his home. Lets bring him back in some capacity

Would love to have Mick back, But I reckon if he's gonna do that role, it'll be at Collingwood.

During "that interview" with mick it was interesting that the tigers got a mention, and the girls wearing the jumpers..

He has a soft spot for us.....never say never.

Interesting reverse psychology by Mick in order to get the clause overturned.

Don't forget that Mick is legally contracted to the Pies next year and I'm pretty sure that tomato Eddie won't let Mick have any involvement with any club in 2012.

Its very common for coaches and assistants to leave whilst contracted. No club would take legal action unless it was extraordinary circumstances.

Mick will and deserves a year off. In that time he will make a good quid in the media and assess his future for 2013 and beyond. Well thats what i reckon anyway.

I understand contracts often don't mean squat, but if you've heard Eddie talk about on Triple M's Hot Breakfast at any time this year when questioned on the issue it sounds like he's pretty certain that Mick in 2012 will be Collingwood or bust. He made it very clear. Not saying he definitely won't go anywhere as like we've seen recently with Ross Lyon and pals anything can happen. Was just pointing that out though in case some people weren't aware :p

Eddy is just grandstanding. Can you imagine the outcry from within the club and supporters if he tried to make him honor the contract? The whole football world would come down on him.

Their is two sides to McGuire, his personal and business side which he obviously excels, and the public side which he is so full of shit and his own self importance.

I would love to get Mick back at the club but I was just wondering what you mean by Director of Coaching? Is he going to be breathing down Dimma's neck, or is he going to be on the sidelines, occasionally giving advice to him. I am very comfortable with Dimma's progress so far. The one thing that has really impressed me is that he has created a certain culture at the club that others are striving for. Success will come, but it is built on unity.

Malthouse is a traitor like Sheedy. He stayed away from the Richmond Football Club when we needed him most. Why would we want him now that we are getting back on track. Stay away Mick, we don't want you at Tigerland.....

I agree that Sheedy has abused his past to benefit his interests with the Tigers, BUT, Richmond in the 80's burned alot of players, do you think there may be a reason why Mick may bristle up about the Tigers? I can think of a training session before the 82 GF that may be just one reason.
