No, I'm not planning a sacrifice of some sort. I'm talking about our next head coach. I don't want another career coach who is looking at boosting their retirement fund by getting a fat contract on the back of false promises. I want a young virginal coach to be put in charge. One who isn't going to soak up a heap of our budget by demanding half a mil of so. Bring in some young guy who is full of fresh ideas and isn't afraid to get down and dirty and make the calls that are needed to to be made to turn this club around.

*BTW I am well aware that I have said I want to keep TW on, but I know that TW will be gone somewhere between round 12 & 22.

True and even though many of us rate him as a complete fool he still has a better win% than Wallace has albeit 0.5% better.

Why would any new comer career coach want to lay down and put their coaching life in the hands of the Richmond ferals ?

We are dreaming, the only choice will get are the experienced rejects that have been in the business for years and are well used, they might have a few tricks up their sleeve but thats about it.

Bookmark it right now, no fresh young squeeze will bare all to be coaching Richmond, we would have to kidnap one of them and force them to do it.

Unfortunately we have an untrue myth surrounding the club that we treat our coaches unfairly.

if hardwick was to come in there is less of a chance the cho would be kept which is absolutely ridiculous. if a player is elite it dosent matter what age he is, richo when fit is still unquestioably elite

I don't agree. Footy is full of egos. Imagine the plaudits if a young coach has the balls to take on our club and succeed. He would go down in folklore as the man who awoke the sleeping giant and got the place rocking again when all the others couldn't. A man with ambition and a man who is fearless can and would want to do this.
Don't discount it.

Best choice the Hawthorn heirarchy made was appointing a virgin coach in AC. Would hate to see Hardwick go but I reckon he may be the next Clarko in waiting.

If I was a new coach wanting to make a career out of it and I had the choice to Coach Richmond, Port Adelaide or Collingwood, (putting aside my love for Richmond) this club would be 3rd on my list.

We all thought that when Terry took over. But in the end he followed the same path as the others before him.
As horrible as it sounds, I would probably prefer Campbell to a recycled coach. Recycled players haven't really helped us in the past, so a recycled coach might not help us either.
Buckley will be coaching Collingwood.
Hardwick may go to Port so you may be right. I'd love him at Richmond though. Hardwick that is.

Sydney, Brisbane, Carlton, Melbourne, WC, Adelaide, Geelong, Hawthorn, Essendon & Fremantle. Whats the one thing each of these sides has in common? They all appointed virgin coaches as their new head coach. Perhaps its time we did that same thing instead of boosting another old coachs retirement fund. Bring in a young coach on $250-350k per season for 2-3 years. Give them permission to clean out the dead wood and replace it with kids. Then if they get results you offer them a new deal. Its worked for most of those clubs listed above, no reason it can't work for us either.
