Ask and we'll try our best to assist - so here's 2024 Provisional AFL Draft Order

As normal, would like to acknowledge & thank Lore for creating this, keeping it up to date and making it available for all users on BF to use and keep track of the picks ahead of the upcoming draft

I'll also sticky this post to ensure it's easily accessible for discussion of our hypothetical trader

Also,

2024 Free Agency Period

Free Agency Closes: Friday October 11 at 5.00pm

Averaged more disposals a game than both Bruhn and Atkins this year and can actually hit a target. Duncan on fumes is better than some of our full time midfielders
And infinitely better than Rohan on fumes.
Ridiculous calls that some would take Chucky 100 times out of 100.

Unbelievably bad call by those above. Duncan deserves a 2025 list spot.

Are you suggesting we lock down the forum for the next week and wait until Oct 15 to reopen everything?
Very special day, which means good fortune for Geelong 😌

Love the father/son. It's also fantastic seeing the father/daughter in AFLW.

Hope it stays.
Of all the unique elements the AFL has I have no idea why so many go for the F/S.
All 18 clubs have access to it, albeit GCS/GWS won't have anyone of draftable age yet, but that will change.

NGA zones are an uneven crapshoot. 4/18 clubs have an Academy.
Both need to be reviewed.

Couldn't he just go do a ton of blow again, cite mental health issues, and sit the season out? It might not be planned, but it's certainly not implausible as an eventuation, if he really doesn't want to be there. As past precedent has shown, the mental health aspect is a 'loophole' of sorts - where clubs have to allow for time away if they're not in the right headspace. That's the real risk they're taking, IMO - especially if he feels a new start is what he needs, and will help his off-field issues.
Coke is not required.

Oliver had a reasonable 2024. Hand surgery six months ago.

Would be horrid being in a team when some players disliked you. Told to find another club. Peddled behind his back. Enjoyed meeting Geelong players + seemed to want to join. Then Green said no. MFC went into damage control to stop the circus 🤡 Oliver, I think, was forced to go to Bluey awards, to perpetuate the love fest.

He wants to leave, forced to stay, which could affect his mental health. He might spiral dramatically. That alone could cause a slump in form + he would need a break.

Unconscionable MFC would put him in that situation!

People are busy remembering what Rohan could be not how he was this year.. Always broken and then when he did play constantly junk. He could barely get a touch in the 2s when he there.
For as bad as Mitch looked at times he contributed a hell of a lot more and was better.

As it stands we won't really have either IMO, Mitch will get carried to his 300th out of respect and then out of the side, potentially retiring right away
People say that regards that Duncan will retire as soon as he reaches his 300th..
There is no way the club and he would agree he would play only 3 more games, do a full pre-season just for 3 games.. that is just a waste to have a person on the player on our list and possibly of finding a player to have on our list and giving a player a chance to play many games for our club

The talk from Journos with good Geelong mail is that the club have told him they want to get him to 300 games and are happy for him to retire before the mid season draft if he wants.
So people aren't just saying it for shits and giggles

It's actually a fantastic attitude to it all if correct and part of what makes the club so good IMO

I'm not disagree with you, but show me the article that says this..

Do trades happen over the weekend also?

The trade period doesn't official open until tomorrow, so nothing will really happen this weekend

As for next weekend - yes & no

Teams can talk, discuss things and work on trade negotiations, but no paperwork can be lodged over the weekend as AFL House is closed

No disrespect intended, but at their current outputs, Rohan can be a difference maker in a position we don't have a lot of depth in.

Ive been a huge fan of Rohan , however the season just gone , Rohan had the classic nothing season , he did absolute nothing , he struggled getting his body right , and i cant think of actually 1 game in 2024 where he actually did anything

You were hoping he would come back to that 22 season type form , but it was just pure hope , so in the end you have to rule the line under them at some stage , and after the woeful season he had in 24 i think the club were well within their rights to basically delist him

This is incredibly harsh. He was huge against Essendon then backed it up with solid games against Hawthorn and Collingwood.

Essendon was the one full game he played without Henry in the team and Henry was sub against Hawthorn and Collingwood. Both of them struggled to impact when they were in the team together.

There was an argument for picking Rohan over Henry in the lead up to finals but Rohan's body continued to let him down and thankfully Henry's form rebounded. But when he got on the field Rohan looked ok.

I've got to disagree with you mate.
Remember how John Newman got to 300? Sitting on the bench. And the bench was an insult back then.

Duncan isn't in our top 25.

His last few games were horrendous.

I agree. I have always been a big fan of Rohan and was surprised when he was delisted. Assuming now that Cameron, Neale and Ollie Henry are a lock every game we do not have a marking forward on the list as back up. Between the 3 of them you would expect some games to be missed through injury. I think there was list spot for Rohan for 1 year.
Danger might get played forward but he is not a natural forward. Instead we will pinch hit with a defender (probably Jack Henry).
