This has fascinated me for a while now - rumours of prehistoric giants that walked the Earth.

The expression "Giant of Castelnau" refers to three bone fragments (a humerus, tibia, and femoral mid-shaft) discovered by Georges Vacher de Lapouge in 1890 in the sediment used to cover a Bronze Age burial tumulus, and then possibly dating back to the Neolithic. According to de Lapouge, the fossil bones may belong to one of the largest humans known to have existed. He estimated from the bone size that the human may have been about 3.50 metres (11.5 ft) tall. No modern peer-reviewed study has been published about the alleged giant bone fragments.

It's not clear. The bible is based on events in the middle east isn't it? The Americas were an unknown part of the world and history was scarcely recorded there. Apparently, native American legends spoke of giants who were wiped out, long before Europeans arrived.

I don't think they were based in a certain location.

According to the bible they were the offspring of fallen angels cast out from heaven mating with human women. They were evil cannibalist who hunted humans.

The Nephilim were the reason that God created the first flood to wipe them out and ordered Noah to create the ark.

That seems to be a common problem with this topic. Bones are reported, but they never show up in museums

And nearly all the pictures of giant skeletons are hoaxes (there was a photoshop competition for them)

Let's see - there are about 7 Billion people on earth today - none of which reach anywhere near the reported height. We have records of a few other Billion people who have lived on this earth over the last 2,000 or so years (at least reasonably reliable reliable records) - none have reached this height. We have - a few - not many, but a significant number - of bones and fossils from Homo Sapiens and other humanoids from the last couple of million years or so - none reach anywhere near this height.

But we have a discovery of a couple of bones from over 100 years ago that were never studied by experts, mysteriously disappear on the way to be studied, found by a self-trained and self-styled anthropologist who expounded views on eugenics, 'Master Races', 'Aryans' and so forth - and miraculously these bones just happen to fit into some of his theories.

Given the dates of these supposed finds it could be miss identified bones from theropodic dinossaurs. One specimen found called "Scrotum Humanum" and identified first as a Roman war elephant, then as a giant human was later identified as belonging to Megalosaurus.

No doubt, the tribe, the Tehuelche Indians, were quite tall. Being mostly nomadic, their diet was almost entirely meat-based - they had no agriculture of any kind.

The reason for that is because the general populace were kept on starvation diets deliberately. It was not until the industrial era really kicked off that wealthy folks were forced into feeding people more and teaching them how to read and write etc so they could operate machinery.

The earth's surface may not have been as it is now, when the Nephilim existed on the earth. The earth may have been a single continent and then pulled apart by the tremendous tidal forces into the number of continents we have today. Such an event found in the bible book of Joshua 10:8-14, which occurred 3225 years ago, may explain how this occurred and why the bones of the Nephilim are found scattered in parts of the earth some may believe to have been undiscovered. The scriptures state:

"8 Jehovah then said to Joshua: “Do not be afraid of them [All the kings of the Amʹor·ites], for I have handed them over to you. Not one of them will be able to stand against you.”
