Wrong again. Contracts were for the period from November to May, and the sign-and-trade period always took place during that stretch. This still leaves six months for re-signed players to go away and do whatever they want.

Believe it or not, having a future job with an employee already locked in doesn't entitle the employee to drug test you for six months before your contract starts.

The only way the AFL can get those players to follow the illicit drugs policy ("dictate terms") is by having 12-month contracts with year-round testing and support. They haven't done all this for AFLW yet because it's expensive.

Or refuse to allow contracts for people with drug convictions.

You seem to be fixated on the contracts.

Yeah the details of contracts explain the lack of an illicit drugs policy for AFLW players. It would be silly to focus on anything else when answering a question about the lack of an illicit drugs policy.

It would be silly to give new contracts to players who are guilty of drug charges.

But the AFL would have been involved to ensure no convictions get recorded and Im sure they will be moved over to the secret avoidance testing once new contracts come out. Hard to see the AFLW players not wanting in on the same scam as the AFL players.

The AFL protecting the AFL brand over players welfare. The AFL way.
To the AFL the money is more important that players welfare.

We want to promote gender equality in sport.

Remember the Swans player who came out and said it was common place there.

Was run out of town and character assasinated. Another truth swept under rhe carpet.

Everyone knows this is a society issue that effects all clubs. Its a shame that some pretend otherwise.
Which player?

Brandon Jack has been very open about how common it is but waives it off each time.
