Na, that's exactly the problem with the rule. It's an imperfect game, played with a ball that is not predictable or easy to control. Bad disposals shouldn't be penalized in our game. It's stupid and against the fabric of it. The rule is a joke and needs to go.

By this logic out on the full shouldn't be penalised either.

The objectivity of last touch is infinitely better than the current system of the umpire deciding whether an out of bounds should be a free or not based entirely on vibe.

It's as though, we've stopped trying to develop any more midfielders because we know we have Butters, JHF and Rozee holding the midfield positions for the next 10 years. Would love to see some AFL-listed players put in the guts here.

Youre running forward, attacking under a bit of pressure, in open play and desperate to just get it forward, you have a forward 50m on his own in the pocket, you kick slightly over his head the ball rolls towards the line and just trickles over on the last bounce. How is that a good rule that you get penalized in that situation. The opposition isn't in sight, you didn't kick it out on the full, you did what you're allowed to do, you kicked it, inside the field of play and then a bit of a lucky bounce dribbled it over and suddenly your penalized despite all the hard work to get it forward.

It's ridiculous. Thank Christ the rule hasn't gotten into the AFL, now to get rid of the abomination from the SANFL.

That Sweet mistake was the perfect example, we fluffed a 2 on 1, instead of a throw in, and Glenelg being back into it with a throw in at their end, keeping it in their 50. They actually get a direct shot. It's stupid.

Finlayson is the obvious choice but I would even go Evans/McEntee, this version of Georgiades that is collecting 15+ possessions a game can play small.

Backline just conceeding way too easily.

Other than the clearances we aren't doing that bad, it's just their ability to walk through us and score. Early we were creating turnovers, but to be honest it was just their mistakes opening it up and they've tidied that up and it's hurting us.
