hi tiger faithful
i saw this a few years ago and think its a good idea.
basically you just guess and predict the amount of goals that each player should and will kick. this is obviously not going to be the case as the number of goals is an aim for that player, and if every player achieved this aim we would have way more goals then any other team. but it is a fun way to see what is possible and look back at the end of the year to see if any of the players reached the target you set for them.
here is my guess with a few words about why. last seasons goals in brackets. i've left out people who i dont think will either play or kick a goal.

alphabetical order

bowden - 15 -(17) wont get as much game time as last yr, but what he does, i see it in the forward line
n brown -40-(35) hopefully can get over 40, and will spend more time in the forward line this year.
connors - 18-(8) should get more games and i think will be a breakout year.
cotchin - 15 - (9) not sure when he will be ready, but will be eased in slowly, starting in the forward line.
coughlan - 4 - (0) hopefully he can make a return
cousins - 10-(0) the usual goal on the run in his return season
deledio-30-(28) hopefully plays less in the forward line, but still kicks goals.
edwards - 20-(12) depending on where he plays will determine the amount of goals.
foley - 15- (8) goals from the centre as per usual
graham - 4-(0) more games with patto out, so hopefully can go forward
hislop - 5-(0) if he plays it might be forward
hughes - 25-(12) need a big year from him
jackson - 8 -(4)
johnson-5-(5) a few ex captain goals
mcmahon - 10-(6) goals running off the half back
moore - 3 -(1) push up and kick some goals.
morton -40-(35) continue his form from last year with some improvement.
newman-6-(3) the big torp will make a return
pattison-15-(6) will play more forward then ruck
pettifer-5-(6) if he returns will kick a few. although not really a spot at the moment.
polo-5-(0) more game time = more goals
post - 2- (0) needs to aim for a game
putt-2-(0) see above, prob wont get a game tho
raines - 1-(0) the running goal will be back
richo-50-(48)- hopefully has the same impact as last yr
riewolt-25-(18) more up forward and another preseason will see him improve
shultz-25-(10) want him to keep a spot up forward
simmonds-15-(13) same output as last year.
tambling-15-(10) resting up forward when not in the middle
thomson-8-(5) a few games and a few goals.
tuck-14-(10) the storming through pack goal again
vickery-4-(0) hopfully gets a game
white-15-(11) roving the forward line.

rookies:
the only rookie i see playing is nahas. any goals we get from him is a bonus. he kicked 50 last year for port melbourne so if he plays maybe 1 a game

lets see everyone elses predictions and then come back to it at the end of the year and see if your prediction/goal was right

Big differences:

Riewoldt will be looking at miminmum 50 goals as our main KPF. Kane Johnson should also see some more goals on account that he wont get much midfield time this year

Huges and pettifer = fail

bowden - 25 -(17) Think we will see him forward quite a bit this year
brown - 50 -(35) Should see a greater output from the champ as the midfield gets on top

PS trashos mob, you predicted that we will kick a combined 151 more goals than last year from those players alone. Thats 6.86 goals a game more if we play 22, or if we make the grand final despite losing a final or finishing in the bottom four and play the max of 26 games then still 5.8 goals a game more. Given we were already the 5th highest scoring team in the home and away season, you are predicting we will score a minimum of 136 points a game (if we play 26). Compare this to Geelong (who won 21 games and won the points for by 166 points) who last year averaged 121. I like your confidence! :D

was more a goal or aim for each player, so we can come back at the end of the season and see if they achieved it.
i think i said at the top that it was unrealistic for it all to happen
