After his amazing game on saturday, hes finally getting recognition from external sources on his footballing ability. I hope the FD locks him up in a long-term contract as this bloke is a future star of the MFC.

Hope the news about parents in true. I've been worried about this. I rate Petterd highly, I hope we improve this year and he can be convinced to stay. Cant be easy for these young players losing every week!

Question: When you're a young footballer (i.e. Petterd etc) are you going to be as seduced by big money offers from the GC? Or at this stage in their footballing lives, does the club that they started with/been loyal to them get their vote?

Just wondering, because for someone like Gaz who has 'done it all' with Geelong (except captain) the money might make more sense, but maybe Petterd etc have a stronger loyalty to the club?

Maybe I'm living in a dreamers world where the almighty dollar doesn't rule...

d33my you certainly have a point, but I think it is entirely up to the individual and how they got to the club. I reckon a bit like Robbo, that Davey would have felt pretty well inclined to stay with us-and genuinely wanted to stay with us-seeing as he made it the hard way through the rookie list. He might feel he owes the club for the chance they gave him. Where as a first round draft pick might not feel like they owe the club as much, but being in a team environment is a strong thing.

Daveys management conjured up a 4 yr deal from the starting offer of 2, dont know how they did that unless the club beleived he was ready to walk to Essendon

Yes true, and players also have to get their value realised. Whether or not he was fully prepared to walk out on the Dee's is something we won't know. I still think there would be some loyalty there and that Aaron must be pretty happy where he is to want 4 years.

Don't take this as gospel, but I am 90% confident that I read somewhere last year that Frawley and Petterd are signed until 2011.

Jamar is the big worry, if he keeps playing the way he has been I would expect to see the FD offer him a contract extension mid season.

GC can have Miller, Pj and Spencer for a 3 park super pass.

Geez I would be rapt this that, I dont think they would be willing to give up that much. Maybe a free round trip on the mono rail would be more attainable

Actually he is a Tasmanian and I think his parents have moved back to Tasmania

Interesting to note in the Herald that he said his mind is not made up yet. And that his family lives in Qld. I understand Wayne (his old man) is a Tassie boy was a handy player back in the day in the old TFL. However unless you have a better source than Ricky himself once again BF proves to be as reliable as a wikipedia reference. Though I would understand why Ricky would give a different story if he were interested in driving his price up.
