Thanks Mars, loved that, was one of those "woooooooohhhhh" moments when the whole crowd gets involved.

I don't think the Tigers touched the ball at all, which was remarkable from a contested situation in the middle.

We should now put this away to be used only if we make the Grand Final.

Haha, read my mind Mars, was about to make a request in the Dids shimmy thread for this clip! Absolutely brilliant work Goldylocks!

It's good as a secret weapon, a trick up our sleeve. We just have to make sure it's not regularly used or the perfect time to use it.

Looks pretty flawless but only works considering the perfect conditions for it. The biggest problem is if Goldsack (or whoever) can make the right decision to use it. I have no doubt that Brown or Jolly will be able to mark or tap it down to our rovers and should be easy pickings after that.

Problem is, it seems to be able to go on the counter-attack if it fails.

I can't wait till he tests it out from the centre

He actually did it twice.

As good as it was, I wouldnt want to see this done at a clutch stage in a massive final. As all of us know who play footy, not every barrell comes off the boot right, and when it doesnt it can be bad news.

I loved how excited Malcolm Blight got at the sight of a torp! Great bit of footage/commentary.

Best kick out ever was in 1996 round 21 at footy park. Nathan Buckley monsters a kick in to the centre square straight onto Gavin Brown's chest who flicks a handball out to Scott Russell who then beams a ball onto Sav Rocca's chest. Goal. Quickest transfer ever.
He also torpedoed one at the SCG onto Licca's chest in 2000 round 3 who slammed it forward for an Anthony Rocca mark and an after the siren goal for the win.

Can't find them on youtube

is there an echo?

how about the commentary after the second one when the tigers scored - "there won't be any more torps today"

master move....at worst it puts teams on guard. They may have to drag their zone out a bit...which opens up the defensive 50.

Really liking Goldy in the side

For the reason of expanding the zone, I believe this should come out more often...and it doesnt always have to be aimed at the centre circles either, torp it to the wings a bit! You will find it hard to cover a kick-out 80 metres out from the goal line the width of the ground :thumbsu:

I've got to admit to letting out an involuntary laugh, followed quickly with a series of pretty embarrassing fistpumps. :o

Doesn't get much better than:

GSACK torp to the centre circle
Jolly tap on
Toovey > Didak > Swan > Tarks > BBLB goal

A couple of things I just noticed when I watched the replay - it's swan who provided an option for Goldsack from the kick-in as a short option, and when he realises he won't be used he runs flat out back to the centre, awesome workrate, and prediction about what play is about to unfold. I also like Toovey's talk to Jolly letting him know he was on in behind.

One of my favourite plays for the year.

Dustin Fletcher kicked a massive torp which scored a behind as well.
The Torp might be back.

From the kickin?

Whoaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember, vaguely as you'll see, we had a goal a fair few years back from a massive torp from a kick in which went straight to a forward running toward goal (Williams maybe, Paul that is.)

He unleashed a few in the warm up and on his way to the bench at the start of the game, which I thought was weird.

But it is such an underrated tool, it gets the ball over the zone and is a perfect get out clause. We will most likely be seeing it in the next few weeks...
