Good turnout for the first Homer of the year at just short of 38,000. That was the biggest "G"/Docklands attendance against Sydney since 1999 and the second biggest since the inception of the Swans so a very decent crowd all told.

It's been said a million times but if only we could put a run of form together and get up the ladder we would average 50,000 at home no trouble. We are the only one of the big 4 who haven't put a run of sustained form together since the attendance boom started in the early 1990s but if and when we do the support is waiting there to see us draw huge at home.

True madtiger but to be fair we would not be alone there. There are more than enough Blues who have done the same since they fell from grace a few years ago so it aint just us.

I wouldn't be surprised if it hit 70,000.

if we won 1 or both of our first 2 games, there would be 80,000 next week

I was suprised by the amount of sydney fans at the game yesterday. Where did they all come from?

They almost outnumbered us. There really should have been 45,000 there yesterday. All those Idgaf's and Oxx's just don't love the team enough to get off their armchairs on a perfect day and watch the team at the G instead of the tv

I was suprised to. I think it's because of the old South Melbourne fans showing up and that the team has had so much success in the past two years.

They have 9,000 Melbourne based members don't they so presumably they turn up in force. Swans always draw bigger than other inter staters for that reason however 38,000 still our best of the decade.

Well, both Richmond and Collingwood havent won a game. Both teams would think they're a fair chance to win. Bumper crowd, I think.

I cant go though. Disappointed to say the least! :(

Yeah beleive what you want, 10,000 members in Victoria on the back of a decent run of success.

The Sydney FC have finally put some money into having a full time office and a social club in Melbourne, so a lot of traditional South Melbourne support has decided to give the club a go again.

With a 6 games a year in Melbourne the club if they get it right should be able to retain that support even due some lean times as it's not a huge time cost 6 games spread over 22 weeks.
