I'll kick things off.

Really not confident at all going into this weekend, but more than happy to actually laud over some others that yes, after a substantial 'dark ages', my team is finally in the finals.

Looking forward to this contest immensely - and i'm hopeful that we put in a better showing than our last match against the Crows.

Anyone remember the score again? Think we put in an absolute pearler.

The Crows definitely have the potential and experience to go a long way in the finals this year. Unlike other years (like last year), there really isn't a tremendous amount of pressure to perform - so every win from now onwards is (without sounding condescending), a bonus.

Wouldn't suprise me to see them contest a Prelim.

But i'm getting too far ahead of myself. You first need to beat us. ;)

If I remember correctly, Thompson absolutely bent us over the last time we played. Add that to the fact that for some inexplicable reason, McLeod was able to play as a loose man - and it's a recipe for disaster.

I can't remember, but who was it who played on Franklin the last time we played? He seemed to do a pretty good job.

So best of luck and may the best team win!

Massie, though, it was slippery conditions... dont think itll be repeated at the dome, atleast i hope not.

Its probably easier to point out those who need to lift for the Crows based on the Collingwood game.

Griffin
Mattner
Knights
Porps
Welsh

Whilst they all had their moments they were not in our best players...which means the other 17 were.

Good luck but dont win:thumbsu:

Massie, but it was wet conditions, so probably Bock will get the gig this time.

Can't wait til Saturday as it should be a cracker of a game. Being a really open year, whoever wins is a very good chance of progressing through to the Prelim or further.

Ah, the memories of Liptak running through the middle of the G in '93...

Knights only played 57% of game time and still got 18 possessions. His disposal wasn't great but I think you need to look at time spent on ground before you say he had an average game. Porps was not quite on, got to the right places, laid some good tackles but wasn't his usual self (execution).
Mattner has got to go. 54% game time and 3 possessions. Useless effort in a must win game. All we ask is for our players to contribute. Can't carry a player like that against the top sides.

You'll notice I was careful enough NOT to say that Knights was average...thems your words;)

While we are on the subject of Knights...did anyone see the NC heart monitor reading as Knights got the ball and approached the 50 metre arc in the last quarter?

Im sure it went up :D and then in went down as he handballed it to Rielly who cooly slotted the defining goal and nail into Collingwoods coffin.

I said in another thread, I'm kind of disappointed we're playing the Hawks this week, because they have such an exciting young list, I was interested to see how they'd go in this finals series.

Best of luck to the Hawks, they'll have a bright future and will hopefully learn some important lessons after getting smashed this week!

;)
