Thank god for that. I was dreading hearing that he would be out for the season. Probably not a bad thing to give him a couple of weeks rest either, hes been fantastic and even surpassed all of our expectations (as high as they were) :thumbsu:

The rest of my day will be much better now knowing our pride and joy is alright. :)

all i can say carlton is don't bring the kid back in until he is 100% fit. he is too valuable to us to be rushing him back after a couple of weeks.

Just this year, fev is no longer my fav player, murph has taken his place. The more i think about carlton's team, the better i think we will be. I think we will be like the saints of 2004 but better in a few years

Please. Come on. I dont want our great club to resemble the saints of ANY era. I mean we have proven in the past that we can get on with it.

Excellent news!!!

I have a dodgy shoulder totally stuffed from dislocation after disclocation... so I feel greatful that the young-gun aint going to have to deal with that!

Something for us to smile about!

Totally agree..........it will be interesting to see how we go about intergrating Waite, Fisher, Murphy and Hartlett back into the fold later in the year.

Good to see they were cautious with Hartlett this week. Got through a half a game unscathed.

One good thing team management has done this year is player-injury management... gone the cautious approach most times.

They realise this year is about building confidence and bodies for some good assaults next year and beyond.

Good - he can come back for the

Battle of the wooden spoon against Essendon.

or

Battle for Bryce Gibbs Cup

Great news.
Bring him back against the Bummers and play him on Campo (if he is not at Bendigo that is) and we can see just how un accountable that Campo is. (was)

phew!!! that is the best news i've had for a long time, would have been a real blow to the kid if it was bad.
I just hope we dont rush him back:)

That's going to be a massive game. I don't understand why 80,000 people wouldn't turn up for one like that, both teams have a chance of winning, both teams have a chance of losing.

And everyone will be happy.

Aggggghhhhhh. why does it say Murphy is out for the season on the AFL.com.au site?

seems to be a differing opinion ...

Murphy out for season

Carlton's worst fears have been confirmed with exciting youngster Marc Murphy ruled out for the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury.

The number one pick from last year's draft will have surgery on his shoulder after being injured during the first quarter of Saturday night's clash with the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba.

Playing primarily in the midfield, Murphy has been a revelation in his debut season, averaging 19 possessions a game.

The Blue was considered by many pundits as the favourite for this year's NAB Rising Star award.

Confirmed on the club website , out for the season. That f*ckin sucks. Was looking forward to him winning the rising star.

I hope Pearce wins it now, couldnt stand seeing a Magpie maggot winning it.

WHY???? What Copeland did was fair and square! I hope our players learn to tackle like that.

Very very very disappointed by the injury to Murph but wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully we will see him tear apart teams next year after a strong pre season.

someone should have stuck up for murphy by decking Copeland i was hoping he'd land on his shoulder he delibratly went for him cause he did that to someone else but not as hard as he did so that proves he did that delibatrate
i called him evey name under the sun

Bad luck for Murph, but we have seen enough this season to know that he is going to be a star. Solves the issue of whether his young body could see out a whole season. Should ensure that he avoids the second year blues, because he is going to be so hungry for action come the start of next season. Congratulations on a fantastic debut season, Murph, you have proved the doomsayers wrong.
