I havent read the first 449* points in this thread, but at the game, on the umpiring perspective.
Every call was there. But those 50/50 calls went Melbourne's way for the first 3/4.

Every single one.

I disagree with 70-80% of them, but they were there.

Hate it.

They were 1 way all game. But because it's a matter of perspective, the AFL will say all good. Well umpired.

Completely unnecessary.

Except if you are trying to put a player off their game of course
Teams have been doing this stuff to us for years. The battering Sloane used to get after Dangerfield left. Mitchell corking Walker.

Unfathomable that people think it's unnecessary. If we did a go fund me to pay the fine I'd gladly chuck a pineapple in.

One guy that has gone under the radar a bit is Jimmy Rowe. His last two weeks have been exceptional.

The game is starting to slow down around him and he has composure with the ball in hand. Seems to have thrived without Murphy in the team.

Offers much more than just a small forward. Very creative with the ball and setup a few plays tonight.

Kid will put together an impressive AFL career I think.

I said it earlier, he doesnt waste a possession. Genuine footballer.

When I compose myself I'll write a proper summary, but as far as today goes that was just brilliant.

We haven't been on the end of a controversial win for a long time..... But we earned it

Also, how good was Jimmy Rowe?!

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but he was 5th for distance ran over the match. Huge effort.

Just watched the replay

Okay - That final throwin with about 17sec left - I can get why Melbourne fans would be aggrieved and felt they were robbed as that was delibrate.

But would you have came back from 5 goals down if the umps were fair for the first 3/4? No

And on the Keays HTB with 1:30 to go - Ball wouldn't have gone in that direction without it being a legal disposal.

So yes. The umpires ****ed up 1 call which cost you a chance in winning. But they also kept you in the game at the same time.

We were better at the end of the da. GO CROWS.

Absolutely. I didnt even consider that may be paid. The Murray insuffucient intent was pure genius really. If Robbie Gray did it he would be a national hero.

Gray actually did do that about a month ago in the dying minutes against Richmond.

I have the benefit of inter-dimentional travel and happened to be in the parallel universe where the umpire called deliberate out of bounds. Dees kicked across the face of goals and out on the full. Crows still won so everyone can chill

I actually had the same thought a while ago.

I've always loved how Keays has gone about his footy. Last season when he came in I was sceptical but saw how hard he tried from the start. This season he's a step above where he was last year. Not just a guy who tries hard and goes hard, but a real asset to the team.

Also need to throw in here that Mackay was pretty good today too, as much as it hurts me to say it!

No real footy fan dwells on a late call. I a prelim or GF sure but in minor round, it happens.

If top is not ahead of 15th at that point ... dont bleat.

Underrated: Thilthorpe's ruck craft and follow up work

I wanted him in for the last centre bounce, he's already better in the centre ounces than ROB. As you say once it hits the ground he adds another mid to the mix. I knew we would lose the last centre bounce with ROB in there.
