Bode is our only hunter and as such should be playing. The thing that p|sses me off is that people say that he burns the ball (and to a degree I agree) but whenever Burton gets a lot of touches he gets votes for POTY on this board when in fact he burns the ball at least 70% of his possesions. But then you get a standard line like "But at least he tries"/ And Bode doesn't??????

Bring back Bode. Just wait until next year when Bode either moves on or gets an opportunity with a new coach, he will be a good player.

Andrew McLeod, Mark Riccuito and Tyson Edwards and probably Graham Johncock need to be put on notice, that if there form doesn't lift they'll be put back to the SANFL. This is half the players problems this year. They think because of the lack of depth in the side they are playing like million dollar untouchable players.

- Bring in the kids. Fergus Watts, Josh Krueger, Matthew Bode, Aidan Parker, Rowan Andrews, Tim Hazell. Bring them in and give them experience at ALL costs. What's the worst that could happen they get flogged by 20 goals, like they should have last night against any other team bar Collingwood and earn some priority draft picks for next season.

GOD THIS TEAM MAKES ME MAD. I've supported them through the good times (97/98 premierships) and the bad times(Robert Shaw era) but when I can see a ******** like Gary Ayres blatantly ruining the reputation of our great club with substandard coaching efforts something has to be done about it.

Think Bodes time has come. 2nd club now where he is getting sparse gametime, and I have always valued Ports player evaluations.
Lack of pace, and disposal skills, can't be fully compensated for by hunger.

It was definitely worth playing Skippy last night.

He definitively showed the footy world that he's too slow for AFL footy and can't kick over a jam jar.

Has to be delisted.

Can't agree with this one. I think if Bode had played instead of Skipworth or Stenglein, we might just have got over the line.

Last week Bodey got f***all game time, and still got plenty of the ball on a pro-rata basis.

He's the only genuine in and under on-baller we have and Ayres won't play him.

He would have been very well suited by the scrappy nature of the last 3 quarters last night.

Bode must play next week or Ayres should be sacked for being even more stupid than we rate him.

Maybe he has problems or something on his mind. Maybe hes just getting old and hes lost that yard of pace so doesnt have as much time as he used to.

Must say you guys are missing Goodwin in that engine room.

As for Welsh. Someone should tell him he isnt anywhere near as good as what he obviously thinks he is.

Look at the positives tho. Exposed some young players to some good game time at senior level for the first time. Hentschel, Jericho, Bock, Hudson (tho he isnt young, hes still a rookie). The continued improvement of Mcgregor. Begley proving himself a fine footballer in defence. Massie as well. Im sure the likes of Reilly, Rutten and maybe Watts by the end of the year will have played some good games at AFL level.

Unless the Crows totally tank the second half of the year, which i doubt, then i think the crows will win enough games to finish 9-10th. Probably 8 or 9 wins for the year.

An interesting perspective - I guess you can tend to show more doom and gloom with your own side than other people might - thats part of the passion of supporting a team and living with immense frustration. I don't read your board but I can imagine a fair bit of the doom and gloom over ther after last week, when as an outsider I can see it from a different perpective and think that it was just that unforgetably bad game that you play now and again - you can rise again.

I tend to agree with your assessment of the players, Macca and Welsh in particular and the loss of Goodwin. I doubt we shall see Rutten unless we are forced to dig deeper into our list.

It makes you wonder how things can change when as i have mentioned before, a few weeks ago Richmond were at rock bottom after losing to us - look at it now!

Firstly I would never suggest dropping Stenglein.
Yes Bode for skipworth was the do, if the emphasis was on winning, and I'm not saying we wen't trying to win.
But at critical times of the game last night, when you would have thought of having your best players on the ground, we were bringing Skippy on, and moreover putting him in the centre square.
I think we are evaluating the list, and I can understand why they played Skippy.
With Bode however apart from pace and skill deficiencies, he does get exposed defensively by opposing midfielders, who exploit his deficiencies.

I agree. I wonder what Bode would be like if he was given a lot more game time. I wonder what someone like Wallace can bring out of Bode. I am pretty sure Bode would be back to his 2002 form

That was the worst game of AFL footy I have ever seen, ****ing discraceful After the start we had and then kicking the first goal of the second quarter we were on a roll, but what did we do????
We ****ing STOPPED we started playing WIDE INDIRECT ****ED IN THE HEAD football, I cannot believe what we do when we kick the ball in after Collingwood got a behind on four occaissions I counted that Hentshel kicked the ball in 15m to Hart hard up against the boundryline, now lets stop right there, if you are kicking the ball surely with the 17 other team mates you ahve to kick it to we can find a ****ing better option than that, for ****s sake Adelaide ****ing wake the **** up, we continually criss-crossed the ball in our defencive area I dont know how many time, we are playing so ****ing wide I thought we had a couple of players hiding out in the 5th row, our disposal is so bad it is just gone beyond ridiculous, we are the worst team going around ATM something has got to change and this **** has gone on for far to long

Mark Ricuitto: Terrible game and turned the ball over to many time's.

Begely: Absolute crap

Mcleod: Something not right here he needs to fire up he looked absolutely lifeless last night.

Doughty and Hentshel: Both too ****ing slow and got caught with the ball far to many times.

I would like to know how many times we entered our forward 50, why the **** cant Scott Welsh take a mark

I generally do not rub out chances to play finals until it is mathematically impossible, and you would not want players to not put in the effort because they felt they could not make the finals from here.

The players are down on confidence and the supporters have lost confidence in them aswell.

All you need is to get a run of wins together. You knew at the start of the year that you had a tough draw and it was tough early.

Crows really need to win all of their remaining home games and try and pick up one or two away games. That would put Adelaide around the mark to play finals this year because whilst the top 4 teams will win alot of games this year, the remaining sides are alot more even this year.

Hang in there, odds are you wont make it given the way you are playing but there is always hope that the team will pull their finger out.

Finals IMO are not in the forefront of our decisions at present. We are rebuilding, but expecting to be competitive with the list we have.
What we want to see is some youngster who are being given plenty of gametime, stand up, and show they'll be part of the future Crows team.
Finals, well is not and should not be part of our current thinking.

He seems very out of sorts, at his best he is a top 3 player in the comp but now he is ageing, lost that touch and has bad knees it could scare many clubs away.
He reminds of Modra in his late times at the Crows and I doubt the Crows supporters would like to see him follow in Modra's footsteps.
It is like Ayres has a similar negativity that Blight had on a couple of players, Blight knew what he was doing and displayed discipline immaculately, Gary Ayres just seems to not have that same aura. Gary is more like the overbearing schoolteacher, to some players it works, and other players won't have a bar of it.

And I have to make mention that Begley WAS worthwhile, and after Fridays effort now have more faith in him for the future.

I thought Jericho was good for us and hope that he keeps going with it.

Yeah, there's always a few players that you just can NEVER imagine playing for another team.

But I also know the frustration of watching the 'favourites' sucking bigtime. AND when it is at a time they are needed to take leadership.

I don't have the answer(s) only suggestions.......one is I don't think replacing Ayres will help at this point. Mid season crap destroys too much..........more importantly tho is finding out what McLeod is having trouble with. He has very slowly dropped off in form for quite a time now. Those brilliant moments are getting scarce.

Roo has been our best midfielder this year, so not sure why yoo have mentioned his name.

Agree with Macca (who still doesn't appear 100% interested) & Edwards. Stiffy's last month has also been mostly poor after starting of the season well. You can also add Welsh to that list.
