Next week in the semi final against Hawthorn we get to witness this legend of the club, legend of a player and legend of a person get to play his 300th game in the red and white. It's been an amazing ride, and hopefully the journey doesn't end any time soon.

When I first bumped into Goodsey he was 17 and he said to us fellas he'd be hoping that maybe he'd be picked for a country Vic rep side (just a local league not the full on VFL/AFL juniors rep side).

When I next bumped into him it was on the same night he had won his first Brownlow - he still said "I just hope I get picked for the side" - though this time I was fairly sure he was meaning the Swannies first grade side...

On behalf of anyone who's ever met his extended his family, I extend my greatest heartfelt congratulations - to Brett, to the elder Goodes down in Vic land, and especially to everyone up in Sydney who has, from the first day he went up the big smoke, made Adam feel like one of the true bloods bunch, from Mickey O and Paul Kelly onwards, and most especially the volunteers and the kiddies in the childrens oncology wards in the RPA who've had so much inspiration from his approach to life - just thanks Adam, best wishes, and lets hope you get to be the first fella to 350??

Do you Swans fans think Goodes is in the best form of his life atm?

I haven't seen him play anywhere near as often as you guys, but it seems to me, he's having more impact on games than he has in the past, which is a big statement considering what he's achieved in previous seasons.

I seriously reckon he could get to the 400 mark the way he is going. The man is a machine and is probably my favorite players outside of Collingwood with Nic Nat and Buddy Franklin.

Do you Swans fans think Goodes is in the best form of his life atm?

Very hard to judge given the number of different roles he has played, his 1st Brownlow year in the ruck was absolutely amazing.

Big problem is he tends to start off most years slowly, so everyone forgets how good he is, then he turns it on in the back half of the season and everyone says he is playing his best football completely forgetting he performed similarly in the 2nd half of the previous season.

But certainly in a very rich vein of form at the moment.

I think his time up forward has really improved his contested marking which adds another dimension to his game and makes him literally impossible to match up on.

I noticed recently he actually leads our team for both inside 50's and marks inside 50. Not sure there'd be too many players in the league capable of that.

I'm too young to have seen Skilton play, but Goodes would have to be up there as the best Swan ever. I think he has surpassed Paul Kelly and there is really no-one else in his league. In 50 years time, I'm going to be proud of the fact that I got to see him play so many times in the flesh.

I hope the team does him proud this week and smashes the Hawks to get us into the PF.

I sometimes think we dont the modern players high enough....I think Goodes may well be there and if not he may very well finish as the greatest.......
