thinking about what rounds he could tally in
i havent done much research yet but i dont think he'll grab any in round 1, a couple in round 2 and maybe a couple in round 3

I reckon he's a good-very good chance of getting votes of any kind in the following games:

round 2 vs Essendon
round 3 vs WCE
round 7 vs Bulldogs

round 8 vs Port
round 11 vs Brisbane
round 16 vs GC
round 18 vs Bulldogs
round 20 vs Essendon

round 22 vs St.Kilda
round 23 vs Geelong
round 24 vs Brisbane

Games in bold are the games I think he is very likely to get 3 votes. Good chance of doing the same against WCE and St.Kilda potentially as well.

All in all I think he'll just miss out on the Brownlow. I'd love him to get it, it would be such an awesome achievement for him but I think he'll just fall short. Top 5 I think is a huge chance.

How great it would be Chris Judd and Adam Goodes declares as joint brownlow medal winners. (3 each for both)

I hope like hell he wins it but I don't think he'll get enough votes pre the Bulldogs game to be in serious contention. If he is within single figures of the lead with 5 rounds to go then he'd be a big chance.

yeah well it is very possible for him to poll 15 votes in the last 5 games

I'd go for that, and they can spend the rest of their careers seeing who will win a 4th brownlow to become the more decorated player. Goodes of course will win another brownlow in 2013 on his way to a premiership winning performance and norm smith kicking 5 goals finishing up forward after being thrown into the in the middle in the 3rd quarter to turn the game.

Meanwhile Judd struggles to regain his early career form, isn't able to split packs like he once did and retires at 31 after playing a year too long with his shoddy kicking.

On last year's voting, Judd gets votes just for getting tackled.

So Judd has had a better year & Goodes had a flat spot mid year which won't help.
My smokey is Ablett. No one to take votes off him & he would have been a standout to the umpires. He would nearly poll 1 vote in every game. Throw in some 2s & 3s & he can win.

But for me, Judd 1st, Goodes 2nd, Ablett/Boyd 3rd.

round 3 v WCE = 3
round 7 v dogs = 1
round 8 v port = 1
round 14 v coll = 2
round 15 v adel = 2
round 16 v gc = 1
round 18 v dogs = 3
round 20 v ess = 3
round 22 v stk = 1
round 23 v geel = 3
round 24 v bris = 3

that gives him 23 votes by me...wont be enough, dane swan has probably 10 games where he SHOULD poll 3

Yeah my count has Goodes at 24 votes, (same as AFL site does actually)
However wouldn't be surprised to see him sneak a few more votes and win it.

Think Swan may be the one noone is talking about who will poll incredibly well.

Have him getting votes in the following games

Round 2 Essendon: 2
Round 3 West Coast: 3
Round 7 Western Bulldogs: 2
Round 8 Port Adelaide: 2
Round 11 Brisbane: 1
Round 14 Collingwood: 1
Round 16 Gold Coast: 1
Round 18 Western Bulldogs: 3
Round 20 Essendon: 3
Round 22 St Kilda: 3
Round 23 Geelong: 3
Round 24 Brisbane: 3

So thats a total of 27 votes... And even then I don't think its enough for him to pinch it off Judd

30 votes apparently: http://wickzki.wordpress.com/2011/09/19/afl-brownlow-medal-final-tally/

Round 2 - 2 votes
Round 3 - 3 votes
Round 7 - 3 votes
Round 8 - 2 votes
Round 11 - 2 votes
Round 14 - 2 votes
Round 15 - 2 votes
Round 16 - 3 votes
Round 17 - 2 votes
Round 18 - 3 votes
Round 20 - 2 votes
Round 23 - 1 vote
Round 24 - 3 votes

Highly unlikely I would have thought.

Goodes will pole strong at the end of the year. He has a 5 game gap where everything predicts he gets nothing. My bet he'll get at least 1 or 2 votes there. I think he will be 25-28 which will win it this year. Murphy v Judd and Pendles v Swan will be his saviour. Though Boyd is a great smokey.

I have a nice lump on Goodesy, funny enough it was on the $9 odds and soon after he went to $7.50 odds. And a few $$$ on Boyd at $21. I reckon Goodsey has this ;)

The essendon game no doubt he was BOG by far, but 90% of 3 votes go to the winning team but he deserves the votes

Dunno if this is the official Brownlow thread, but kudos to Bachar Houlis Mrs for stepping out on the blue carpet in the full head scarf...:thumbsu:
