My contribution to the gossip circles that are going on :p (NB: This is just a bit of fun, but read into what you will. They are just rumours i have heard/read on other sites, and thought I'd share them on here, because everyone else seems to have some sort of gossip, so I thought i'd add my bit - a bit tongue-in-cheek  )

Was at the Cox Plate (Im a member) and it should have been called the Carlton Plate. The members was full with Carlton identities and football people in general. Amongst those were Libba, Pagan, Marc, Josh and I think a couple more. I had a chat with both Murphy and Pagan.

Firstly seems like the players are quite happy and Marc comfirmed that both he and Josh are 100% fit now and looking forward to the season. Marc is a really nice guy and very mature for his age. You should have seen the girls circling him and and Josh

I asked Pagan who we would pick at no. 1 and he replied "who do you want us to pick" - when I said Gibbs his body language told me that this is the most likely scenario. BTW he looked extremely fit and relaxed. Chatted to a number of Carlton suporters and was very friendly.

and this...

Was listening to Liam Pickering on SEN on the weekend, I guess they he must manage Davies. Said that Davies was fit and ready to go, they were just trying to work out his 'status' for next year with the Club. Read into that what you will.

On a plane back from Noosa last night, flying out of Maroochydore, sitting in my seat when i look up to see in the aisle filing past:

Sticks, Braddles, Mil Hanna, Peter Dean, Andrew Mckay, Diesel, Ratts and Barry Mitchell, plus a couple of others in the group who I didn't recognise.

Couldn't believe my eyes.

Been away on a 'golf' weekend, and certainly looked a little the worse for wear.

All getting on like a house on fire, like footballers on an end of season trip.

Got me thinking that the crew remains tight, and that Braddles and Ratten bring with them a much bigger support network, which can only be a good thing - having all those boys around, maybe down the club, certainly in the background.

Gave me hope.

Go Blues.

And just an aside, has anyone actually seen the list of players that come out of contract at the end of next year? It's worrying, but i dont want to think about it yet. Bower, Hartlett, Kennedy, Walker, Murphy and O'hAilpin to name a few. Sign em up now boys! :) What's Kane Simpson's contract atm?

Well I guess I may add a rumour just to add onto this little gossip thread.

I heard this from My father the fruiter from a chef customer who is friends with Fraser Gherig's sister....wow thats a mouthful.

According to the Gtrains sister, Fevola has been going off the rails again. Not only drinking, but mucking up in Ireland, which apparantly the missus isnt too happy about. This spurred Fev to go out and do even more stupid things like going into Gaelic Football central with Amon Buchanon to catch up with Tadgh Kennely at a pub.

The big rumor is that he had got into a fight there, Sheedy wasnt too impressed and then dropped Fev from the team!!!

Now I , personally, think this is a load of BS...havent talked tot he direct source, but spoke with the chef the other day, and said those where her (sister) words.

Seeing that its a gossip thread:p

you'd think that there would have to be some outside reason why fev didn't play in the first match. does sound like something he'd do. plus sheeds did say it wasn't going to be a free for all like the last time the aussies went to ireland

From what I understand, he is signed up for the 2007. I'd be trying to get him signed up well past that - right now in fact.

I'd also be signing up Walks and Murph quick smart as well! And JK. That kid is going to be anything!! :thumbsu: :)

Why would there have to be some outside reason why Fev didn't play? Does the same apply to Brett Peake not playing? The fact is Fev was always going to miss once it rained all week leading into the game. The conditions were not suited to Fev & for that matter Barry Hall, who flashed in & out of the game. I'm not even sure it will work in the second game if Fev & Hall both play in attack unless Croke Park is a lot drier and less slippery than the ground at Galway.

BTW we're going to have problems re-signing Bower once his contract is up next year. Apparently he wants to go back to WA when his contract is up.
I think they'll play him a lot next year to try and get his trade value up if we can't convince him to stay IMHO.

Well, on my previous post, just on SEN and Fev has been involved in a scuffle at an Irish Nightlcub....not good

Interesting. Watch this space..........
Agree with you CP, if we play him more in the seniors next year, he might have a change of mind.

They're going to have to compensate us well if thats the case, considering we will have a higher PSD pick than both West Coast and Fremantle. Hopefully this is just another rumour with no substance to it though. After all, many draftees are often rumoured to head home but only a handful actually go through with it.

I think you will find that the person who originally posted this on another forum got mixed up between Paul Bower and Jordan Russell. :thumbsu:

Well the hardline we've taken with Russell and Thornton means he won't be going anywhere unless we receive adequate compensation. :thumbsu:

I'd ask for Marcus Drum, Matthew Rosa or a first round pick or he can re-sign with Carlton.

I'll keep Bower thanks Cypher.

I want to keep him as well.

But that's what I'd ask for if he wanted to go to the Eagles or Dockers.

Careful! Or I'l change it to gimme a squeeze. :p

Of course, but I think we can keep him. He should be looking at playing 15+ games next year.

apparently Caro is paying out on Carlton in tommorow's age ...

Gees, just for something different :thumbsd:

Thanks for the heads up.... I'll keep my eyes peeled NOT!

It is time the club took some affirmative action in relation to Caro. I think perhaps next season she should be banned from all of our media conferences & she should not be allowed any interviews with our #1 draft pick or any of our youngsters for that matter. If she is going to continue to rubbish our brand there has to be consequences. If The Age continue to support this sort of negative journalism, then maybe the ban could become all encompassing.
