Abit hard on Fisher, was important with Fev gone. I did laugh but.

When will Fantasy Freko e-mail his 1st round scores and is it just DT or can you get SC scores too.

Going on the previous 2 years experience, Fantasy Freako will send the first Pre-season Rave next Wednesday afternoon, March 3. DT only.

HTH :)

Robbie Gray from Port or Josh Kennedy from the WCE?

Who would you choose for your dream team.

I'd Take Gray - meant to be playing more midfield n when he plays Essendon
LOCK HIM IN CAPTAIN all ways plays well vs us the prick lol

I like Kennedy as well but i think he will be much better as a supercoach player he will get lots of marks which is always handy

hey all, just wondering about Jobe Watson - last year he had 4 terrible games, got 55, 53, 38 and 24, what was the reason for these scores? They scare me a little as im thinking of getting him this year.

The danger is Jobe is that he can play really well but still not score well. From memory the 24 was in Perth on abig ground where he has struggled before.

Is there a reason to keep any money in the bank? Is it a problem if you have none at all? Is it as simple as you have more money playing from round 1 V less flexibility when it comes to your first trade, or does something more sinister wait around the corner for the team with a 0 bank balance?

Jobe is an inside midfielder that will often handball. Dream Team doesn't pay points for contested positions either.

Awesome player, but due to his midfield role and likeliness to be tagged, he might have a few low scoring games. Will only get better, though.

Totally agree with you my feathered friend.

Does anyone have a view on how much monjey to have in the bank pre first round. Is it problematical to have none?

Problematic in that when the inevitable injuries occur, or when it comes time to trade up, the extra cash provides flexibility in who can be traded to.

Obviously, if you don't have cash left you can only make trades that at most match the value of the players traded (and cash made from cash cows).

At the end of it though, its important to have team that you are happy with as it is less likely that you'll make trades latter on because you started with players you didn't really want

Thanks good stuff,

Often (not always) the first 2 trades made are downgrades to get the best 2 rookies that have been missed which lessens this problem.

Ahh the complexities of Dreamteam; endless....

I was just looking at my bank balance in DT and i wondered, wouldnt it be good if you had like and intrest rate. Like for how much money you have in your bank after each week you get say and extra 10% of that added on. example
at the end of:
WK1 30k + 10% = 33K
WK2 33K + 10% = 36.3K
and so on. Thus making it more interesting (no pun intended) and making it more strategic, on wether you should have your DT money invested in players on sit it in your bank.
I know this may seem ridiculous to some and is VERY VERY random (hope i am in the right thread) but what are the Dteamers thoughts on this?

The way the salary cap works, any money left over will be more valuable by Round 7-8 than it was at the start of the season anyway. If you're struggling to find value I think there is merit in taking x amount into the season unspent and cashing in on premiums who have slow starts to the year.

Not a bad idea.

Just saw a thread that has now been locked about a player that accumulated 104 Free Kicks against in one season. Now that equates to -312 for the year which is as good as 3 doughnuts. Assuming every game was played (we'll say 22 for modern day sake) that's an average of 4.72 FA per game, would it be enough to avoid the player?

I'd be interested to see the ratio of Total Games / FA to see who would be costing you points. I'm guessing that if you subliminally selected a team with players of a high ratio over time it could cost your team a lot of points. You might then argue that the player over time cancels out that by scoring higher per week than another player of the same price. A player that springs to mind is Buddy. I'd argue he would have a very high ratio, giving away free kicks at will.

What are other people's thoughts?

Have the AFL announced anything that will make it so the website wont crash on the Thursday night when teams get named?

With the ability to move players between positions without using a trade this year do you recon some people will be building teams around players in two positions. I know that when picking between player X and Y iv been moving towards the player in two positions for example Josh Kennedy and Kurt Tippet. Tippets a ruck/foward so if i end up picking either one it will most probably be Tippet.

It's not quite as simple as that - if you have a RF picked in the Rucks you also need a RF picked in the forwards to make the swap between the twp possible.

Makes things a little bit trickier.

Personally, I've got Tippett (RF) 2nd ruck, coverage with Warnock a bench ruck and Lobbe (RF) a bench forward.

I'd be inclined to swap that around so that both of your ruck bench spots are being utilised, so you can find better value on the forward bench.
