We've put in a few shockers this season & we've bounced back every time, we need to do it all over again @ Footy Park this weekend. Port are also coming off a shocker so you'd think it'll be a very firey start. Whoever settles first & runs out the game better will be the key's.

Bogey ground for us as well, we need a huge collective lift as it's probably make or break for the reigning premiers. You'd think they'll try & keep it tight & that seems to be suiting us this year.

Did we not just lose 2 in a row?
The Eagles game we are letting off the hook because there are too many easy excuses that can be used. Regardless of the scoreline I don't think we were ever in that match.

With the run home we have I still believe we will finish 5-6 (where I have always believed we will finish). We will never win a flag until we can address the following:

*A consistantly good fullback who doesn't do stupid things
*A midfield that isn't beaten so often in clearances (this should happen when our young midfielders mature)
*A forward line that despite its quality, goes missing too often when it counts
*Performances such as against Hawthorn, Fremantle & Brisbane. You can't afford to do that once in a premiership year, let alone 3 times.

There are too many people willing to make too many excuses whenever we lose.

If we win this week all the negetives from our losses this year will again be smoothed over and forgotten, only to be brought up again after our next loss.

Does anyone really believe we can win the premiership?

I think that if everything went right we could, but that means playing at near our best every week and getting lucky with injuries. How likely is that?

Anyway I'm just ranting as I've been silent for awhile now.

i dont think our forward line goes missing 2 much. when the opposition starts to get ontop in the middle, they just dont have enough delivery

Yeah seriously, time to flex some muscle.

And toina, everytime you post rubbish about melbourne it makes me laugh. Ah the memories of Queens Birthday.

I think we will win this week because our midfield should have the edge over theirs. Port's engine room isn't as strong as it once was. Every loss we've had this year, has been against a very quality midfield. These aren't excuses, merely facts.

St. Kilda - Ball, Dal Santo, Hayes and Jones were good, plus Bruce and McDonald got injured.
Fremantle - Bell, Carr, Carr, Black and Schammer all played well and beat us in a shootout.
Hawthorn - The Everitt-Mitchell combination, plus Hodge, Crawford, Bateman and Smith were too good.
West Coast - Cox, Judd, Fletcher, Kerr, Cousins, Braun, no more needs to be said.
Brisbane - Akermanis and Voss on fire, Lappin, Black, Power, Corrie and McGrath ran us ragged.

This game is huge. Bogey ground, coming off two bad losses and coming up against the reigning premiers who will be desperate to keep finals hopes alive.
Whitey is the key. Port's rucks this week (Primus and Lade) are big lumbering ruck-forwards who are strong but if Whitey can get mobile they will tire very quickly. ND should give him a rev up because he's having a really crap year compared to last and he is the player who if he lifts could lift us back to top 2.

There are some pretty clear differences between the two losses IMO. We were due for a loss two rounds back. Yeah it was still a loss & unacceptable but it was hardly a no contest like the Gabba game.

ND got one thing right on Saturday & it was that our leaders just did not show, they took an extra week off plain & simple. The responsibility lies with them as of now.
