I know that 11500 tickets were avaliable for each grand final club but how many people actually registered i heard around 25000 has this been confirmed?

Only 25000 entered?! Wow I thought many more would.

Two friends and I entered again like last year and we are hoping to get tickets again! Hopefully not standing room again, but I cant be fussy.

Are the social club and september members including in that figure?.

I know there are approximately 16,000 social club members who are guaranteed tickets.

Where does this leave the remaining members if every social club members wants a ticket?

I'm safe...i'm social club, so if we make it, i'm there, however a few of my mates may not be so lucky.

Honestly, i dont think its a fair system but can not think of a better may to do it.

Unsure about the totals if they include September Members and Social Club members; I wonder how many registered in the time frame to guarantee their ticket?????

us September members don't go in the ballot

We just register our intent to use our entitlement.....

If September Members and social club members like us dont go into the ballot, i think the odds of getting a grand final ticket for the remaining members would be quite high.

Awesome!

If the September Member/Social Club tickets come out of the 12k pool, then the odds of the rest of us getting a ticket would be about 1 in 4, i'd think.

BTW The AFL has said that the amount of tickets for competing clubs will be anywhere between 8k-13k each, which is pitiful.
I heard 12k was the correct figure, but they won't release an accurate figure until they know how many they're flogging off to corporates.

i have an idea
port adelaide looked like being our opponent last year in the granny
so people who are concessions or kids shoulda baught some junior poirt memberships last year as soon as it looked as if it was likely, and gotten garenteed grand final tickets, because interstate clubs get just as many tickets as vic clubs and only a percentage of their members tried to get a ticket..
if only i thought of this last year...

AFL Grand Final Ticket Allocation:

http://www.afl.com.au/Portals/0/afl..._of_returns_allocations_on_sellers_180608.pdf

The capacity of the MCG will be approximately 100,000 on Grand Final Day.
Advice from the Melbourne Cricket Club ("MCC") is that the capacity of the MCG will
be no fewer than 95,000. Therefore the AFL has used this figure during the Ticket
Scheme Proposal.

In answer to Guidelines (a), (b) and (c), the AFL proposes that tickets to the 2008
AFL Grand Final be allocated in approximately the following manner:

1. Competing Club Members 16000 – 26000
2. AFL Clubs (16 x 1000) 16000
3. MCC Reserve 16000 – 26000
4. AFL Members 15000 – 25000
5. AFL/Medallion Club Members 4500 – 5000
6. AFL Entitlements/Contractual Obligations 5000 – 15000
7. Competing Clubs 1500 – 2500

Total 100,000 (approx)

It could work except for the fact that club memberships close at the end of June.

You may as well fork out the $1500 for a center square ticket than have to buy a membership for almost every club.

1. You'd only pay for a membership of another club if they were a <$3 chance to make the flag
2. only do it if they are interstate (if they were vic, u may aswell just buy more cats memberships)
3. Kids memberships are $20, and it gets u a concession ticket to the game
