to get the hookers, yes u kill them after and get the money back but its luring them in the first place you need the green for.

but mainly to buys houses and shit. not cars wtf

I think it's fantastic that they've added a new string to the bow. There is already a huge list of things we can buy in addition to houses. How boring would it be to buy all the houses and do nothing with them? Cars, marinas, airfields, airports and even business. This game is going to be legendary.

I get everything... except cars. The game is called Grand Theft Auto.

May as well change it to Legally Purchasing Automobiles.

I think you've missed the point. No one is going out of their way to buy a Toyota in the game. They'll just steal it. The cars you can buy are the top-end luxury ones which are very rarely seen.

Screenshots are good and all, but i'd wish they'd hurry up and tell us whats in the collectors!

This will likely be the only collector's edition I buy all year.

This is despite the fact that my lock box from GTAIV is still sitting there with most of the contents untouched in 5 years

Have just heard details of the new carjacking system in the game.

Long gone are the days of ripping opening the door and throwing the driver to the ground.

Now if you want to carjack, you walk/run up to a car/bike and engage in a choose your own dialogue exchange where you discuss the details of legally purchasing said vehicle. If the driver then agrees (depends on the new 'charm' attribute) the driver will then park in the nearest safe spot and then you both walk to your lawyers office.

From there the shit hits the fan! You enter into an exciting contract mini-game, where you must read every word of a 3000 word document (you do this through screaming the words at Kinect on 360 or any regular mic on PS3) and then go through a bunch of special QTE's to sign your very own unique signature.

After that you then have to wait 30 in game days (in game time is real time now though, so 30 real time days) until the contract passes through all the legal channels and the cheque clears and then you can get the vehicle.

****ing GAME OF THE YEAR!!!! :rainbow:

Holy shit! Hadn't given this game much of a following as I hated GTA:IV

Just finished reading the whole thread but its seems GTA is GTA again!

For me it's the little thing's like being able to pick up a hitch hiker and drive them straight into a brick wall.

Or jumping out of a plane.....because why not?

I actually like the idea of been able to purchase 'luxury' cars, helicopters and marinas. Firstly, I generally hate the idea of just accumulating money without been able to spend it on anything other than weapons, outfits, food, etc. The basics that aren't a hit to your trillion dollar income. Yes GTA has given you the opportunity to purchase properties previously though only really VC did a good job of it IMO.

One must remember that this game is heavily based on planning and executing heists and it's fairly obvious that money is generally the primary motivator behind heists. It's a reward so to speak; you do the hard work to earn something. It's essentially a different way of moving up the ranks and given the nature of the game that is GTA, it only makes sense to make said items available to purchase cars, helicopters etc. The game isn't going to allow you to be an Arab oil tycoon or Roman Abramovich and buy yourself a football team cause you know, that just wouldn't make sense.

My only issue that I'll have with it is if these vehicles aren't exclusive to purchase only. Then it'll be just stupid. I don't want to fork out X dollars to purchase a car only to see it start spawning all over the city. I also hope there's at least a damn big yacht included with the purchase of the marina cause with the ocean a major factor in development, I'd love a proper shoot out at sea. No pissy shit where they just chase you around just telling you to stop.

I kind of hope Rockstar puts in a shitload of cheats for V.

Been playing San Andreas again recently and it's amazing fun just running around causing havoc with cheats, spawning Hydras and hovercrafts. One of my favourite things to do is to spawn the Hunter chopper and parachute out over different locations.

I hated that in IV you couldn't do any of that, so I'm hoping they bring it back for this one.

With the level of detail they're going to, it would be good to see less pedestrians on the street at night, along with cars. And richer cars in the better neighbour hoods etc while the slums have shitboxes driving around.

They've been doing that since San Andreas at the latest.

Have seen all sorts of cars everywhere, and still seen plenty of cars in the middle of the night.

Yeah but they do have certain cars in certain areas.

I've never seen an Infernus that I didn't steal on Grove street for instance.

GTA IV was the same. Certain cars weren't around certain districts.

Depending on where you were it thinned out but not massively.
Never noticed it. What I noticed though is when you're going from Bohan to the bridge that takes you to the second island, whichever car you're in, that car always appears parked all the way along the street before the bridge.
