I only noticed this article recently. Part of me's a bit disappointed we didn't take a chance and grab Jetta, then Hampson. There was no way Bombers would draft a ruck with that pick.

Anyway, time will tell - i won't lose sleep as Grigg has so much to offer anyway.

We have enough "short people" on our list at the moment. As good as Jetta could be, it is pretty clear that we have for height, pace, and guys that have a good head on their shoulders.

I totally agree, but i didn't pluck this comment from nowhere - we were inches away from selecting Jetta and had him rated before Grigg.

"Most people would understand that Leroy was probably in the mix, Leroy Jetta. We had a discussion about it at the table and if Essendon had picked Leuenberger at two then maybe things might have fallen differently but I was still worried that Essendon might be looking for a ruckman and our discussion basically revolved around, 'Look, I want to pick the one that I want'. said it might mean that we'll lose Leroy so that was the consequence of that, but that's the decision made on the day and in 10 years time that might be right, wrong or indifferent but what I can't do is ever change my mind, so that's how it works."

Doesn't matter, just interesting that's all - and i hope we don't regret it cos Jetta could be a star.

Guys having seen Grigg and Hamson (albeit at training) we have made the best possible selections with picks 17 & 19. Im so thankful that we didnt get an exploisve type coz we already have Eddie Betts. I am really impressed with Grigg at the moment. He looks polished and is unbelievably quick which will suprise other players. Dont worry guys Hughes knows what he is doing and with this decision you will see in a few years time.
