Green: Players to blame

On the subject of leadership, I think in our group Moloney is a good leader on the ground, and Davey our best leader off it (almost any interview with any of our younger players mentions how he took them under his wing at some stage, especially the indigenous kids) but Moloney has had a big setback off the field this year and Davey has been pretty terrible on field. Grimes is too injury-prone for my liking, the vice-captain would be leading for 3/4 of the year if he got the job.

On the subject of Green's comments, what was he supposed to say? He was in a no-win situation, but his leadership on and off the field has been uninspiring bordering on damaging.

The fact that the club was lead by Jordie McKenzie and with cameo's from Trengove and Watts (who did try all day) is a damming inditement on the club.

Where was our "leadership" group? They are a pathetic joke. Moloney aside, they are all a pack of marshmallows. Rivers masquerades as a hard man, but when the shit hits the fan where is he?

I think the club is tipper field by the Dunn incident. Chappy was standing over him and giving to him. When I played footy we wouldn’t ever stand for that. Within seconds there would be 10 blokes standing side by side protecting one another. I’m not implying that they should have started a fight, but at least back your mate.

Future right there. Light at the end of the tunnel.

theres our 'leadership' group

the damning thing is the fact that none have been dropped this season, none have taken responsibility, it seems in poor performances its easier to blame the nicholsons, bennels, mortons and co then to really look at the real problem
i agree with everything else you said but thats the main thing

This is a sensational point, we have been smashed on a consistant basis this season, however its always the same people getting dropped. I look at all the proposed ins and outs on the board and its the names of the same people that continously pop up Bate, Maric, Dunn, jurrah, yet the facts are we have conceded 232 points in a single game of football and not to mention ive never seen more of a distinct difference in center clearances between two teams and everyone seems the to think that dropping the fringe forwards is the solution. 232!!!!! Garland, Rivers, Sylvia, Green. If two of these players arent dropped then we have learnt nothing. Besides Mckenzie not one player can walk out of that game knowing they did there best to there capabilities, im surprised im hearing mentions of Trengove being serviceable, to my knowledge he was in that midfield was he not?

Pending suspension Dunn, Bate, Howe, jurrah and Maric should all keep there spots this week purely on the basis that there were more players at fault. The favouritism of certain players must stop this week.

How about Green stands up and says "I haven't been good enough"?

Because quite honestly, he's been absolute tripe.
