Green Vows To Step Up

i think you're right but imo it should be:

Neitz, Yze, White, Bruce, Miller, Moloney

Firstly, on the leadership group I think it's a good thing. You don't need more than 6 in the group. Nicholson was in it last year FFS!

As for the article itself, this happens all the time with Melbourne. Players always say we're going to do this or that. This especially happens during 2 month losing streaks where every week someone will come out and say "this is the week we will turn it all around".

Might be good for the little kids to read, but I never bother with it. Talk is cheap.

Yeh i agree players are often coming out with comments like this, only started a thread on it because our board isnt exactly brimming with live threads at the moment.

Any news is good news.

Yep I've got no problems with the thread, the more the merrier!

In fact it will be useful to bump up when we lose 9 in a row with Green shirking every contest ;)

Lol, yeh good point.

I dont get why if Green was in the leadership group last year, why not step up last year when we were in the middle of a 9 game losing streak instead of now?

I would of thought Nicholson was only in the leadership group last year so that there was a 'leader' in the backline

I didnt know we needed a leader in the Sandy Backline?

If Yze or Green are in this new leadership group, nothing will change.

No offence to either player, as both are very talented, but they don't exactly strike fear into the opposition.

I'd have Neita as captain, White as vice captain and then Robbo, Miller, Bruce and McLean. The only problem with that group, is that we will lack a leader down back. Still, as Green said, just beause you are not in the leadership group it doesn't mean you can't lead.

Less talk and more action from our top- earning players would be really fantastic.

it was brought up in another thread that whelan is the general of the backline, i think he will be in it, along with Neitz, Yze, White, Bruce and Green. Robbo won't be, he needs to concentrate on footy, and make sure last yr wasnt a flash in the pan

Bingo. If only footballers could be bound to what they say by official contracts that halve their salaries if they don't follow through with it. Especially coming from green, this is gold.

I think this thread will be bumped a few times regardless of whether Green can stay true to his word or not.
There was a similiar article to this about Rivers on Saturday. I for one am looking forward to see a stronger, more experienced Jared at CHB next year :thumbsu: .

I'd love to see him bulk up like Miller did. He was skinny in 2003, then the first game against Essendon and he was huge.

Well according to training reports he has put on more weight. Can't wait for the pre-season comp.
