Saw the young man on ABC 1 the other night when North played Centrals.

Very impressed with the way he moved on the field.

Good pace, good sideways body movement.

Looks to be a player.

Do others agree?

He has played very well for North but I honestly can't see him being upgraded this season. He has been a real surprise for North this year, I had never heard of him before he was selected by the Crows despite the fact he is a North player. I even asked a few questions to a few of the Groggies who know the club better than me and they had no idea who he was. He has filled in well in our backline and was great today, he loves to run off his man and create an extra option and he goes in hard for the ball but let's not get to hasty with our upgrading.

If I was to upgrade another rookie it would be Archard from South but the only reason we would bump up another young lad is neccesity, and we don't need Gallman at this stage (or Archard for that matter).

Thats one more player to delist at the end of the year. Unless they NEED him to play this year i think he will just be rookied again next year.

Two weeks in a row RL.

I really liked the look of him.

I would go for the upgrade and see if he can cut the mustard.

I like the way he is prepared ot run off his man. He takes them on!!!!

Yeah he was Ok last week but personally I think he faded a bit when the pressure was on but he wasn't on his own, the rest of the team followed suit bar possibly Howard and O'Hara. A couple of good games shouldn't constitute an upgrade though, there is no way he will play a Crow game this year so there is no point in him being upgraded. He is definitely a future prospect though, leave him be for now, see how he finishes off the year and have a gander at how he performs in finals footy and then think about upgrading him next year.

I am excited about this young lad's future though.

Well the AFC had obviously heard of him. He played on Tom Hawkins in the U18 championships and did well against the monster.

Understand he was told by the Crows he was 5th in line for a rookie listing and when the 4th was taken by someone else he was in.

Bit early to upgrade but if he keeps improving the way he has he could be on the list next year.

As i said before somewhere him and McIntrye are going to make great replacements for blokes like Benny Hart, Basset and Torney very soon:thumbsu: :)

Doesn't work that way. All rookies who have been upgraded, replacing long term injury listed players, are automatically returned to the rookie list at the end of the season.

Of course, teams are able to re-upgrade them (permanently) as part of their wheeling & dealing during the post-season trade/delisting period.

Very likely type :thumbsu:

What a great Rookie Draft we had.

lets stick to facts here ......Hawkins killed the kid!!! .....one of the reasons he was not drafted .....but he was a 187cm player out of position against a 197cm player with at least 10kg advantage.

He played well in the other U18 games and showed he had good leg speed ....confirmed thru testing

Think he's a great prospect .........not this year though Bigman ......but certainly could see him upgraded at year end. :thumbsu:

Does anyone have some detailed info about him? I would like to know what he's like overhead, with his leap and all that.

Very safe overhead, quick off the mark for a 187cm player ....probably why he's playing at FB for North .....not a leaper though ...more in the hart style of player

Very attacking as well, he seems to love running through the centre and setting up forward thrusts.

no need to upgrade him yet as we have plenty of players for the position he plays

anyway if we upgrade him , i'm sure the injury curse will strike him too, just as it has every single one of our draftees and rookie upgrades this year :D

Its his attitude "lets take on the buggers" that i love.

Agree WW about him played out of position in the Under 18's.

Has all the attributes to make it - pace, agility and to play tall for his size.

He would be good off a half back flank, or a propective midfielder. He could be the Torney replacement in time. he could end up playing a Jason gram type role.

Mcintyre will be our Bassett replacement.

The backline looks as though it will be in good hands with Hinge Douglas etc all possibly making their mark here as well.

Sorry to intrude fellas and I have to admit this is a DT question (apologies). But I see young McIntyre has been promoted by you guys, I know he is injured at the minute but is there any chance he might be given a shot in the senior side for the rest of the season? Or do will you have too many players back from injury then?

McIntyre is a better player and has shown far more in the SANFL than Hinge but I don't think Mad Dog will get a game unless a couple of defenders go down injured. Hinge is more of a chance of coming in for him but I wouldn't have him in my dream team.

:thumbsu:Cheers guys.

Yeh I need at 69k rookie to afford an upgrade to Bruce. I knew McIntyre had been promoted so I thought it may have been worth a look.
