Diesel was a genius with vision and reading of the play second to none. He didn't need to be fast when he knew where the ball was going, and knew where his teammates were heading. In fact, Diesel almost hypnotised his teammates into going where he wanted them to go. His disposals were like that. They was brilliant and putting the ball into space for his teammates to run on to, and master at feeding the ball through a tangle of arms and legs to a teammate in the clear.
That sort of talent would survive in any era.

too many people turn around and say 'such and such wouldnt survive in todays game because it's evolved since they play' but I think that the out and out champions would always make a niche for themselves on the pitch and still excel at the game.

How good was 'Diesel' and how would he go these days?

i have no idea how he would go these days, you would think quite well but not as near as good as he used to, just watching a game only 5 years old and the ammount of time a player inside had to dispose of the ball has significantly shrunk since then. The speed and intensite and has changed so much it's hard to say.

I'd mix Diesel and Kouta in that case.Sorry, I didn't word that too well... I actually meant Diesel and Judd put together to make one perfect footballer
I was imagining Diesel with Judd's explosive athletic ability and height etc, but yes, I agree in any case.
You've been living in the land of warm piss for WAY too long, my friend.![]()

He would be a gun today, as was yesteryear.
The added umpire/video protection and scrutiny from the scragging tactics of todays taggers would of benefited him no doubt.
Williams' creativity was incredible. In fact the finest.
And, Craig Bradley didn't mind the armchair ride either. Diesel helped him along to his three hundred plus games without him having getting his body smashed about too often. All Bradley had to do was scream down the wing and bang, there it was, the ball on his chest. Sometimes it happened when he wasn't even looking.
It's obvious the MC are trying to create this sort of magic with Hadley/McLean on to Judd/Gibbs/Murphy. Hope it comes together for us.
