Gawler Race 6
#1-5-8

Going to be hard to beat the favourite #1 LONG GULLY KIM here as has two vacant boxes on her outside and she does charge home. Will be short. Maybe stand out in exacta 1-5,8 and Trifecta too. But so will everyone else, so expcet smalll exotics.

Favourite failed to run home this time.
7-5-1-6

Devonport Race 6
#1-2-8-4

Inside draws look hard to beat here again. Don't mind the #8 DISTILLED for a bit of an upset, could be good EW odds.

2-1-3-8 Quin $3.20

Gawler Race 7
#2-1-4-6

#2 LONG GULLY BLUE should go alright here. Tends to find trouble from outwide, so the inside box should suit here. Definately gets chance to win another race today as has been looking a winner recently. #1 OCTANE EVOLUTION is resuming from a lengthy spell. Is one to watch. #6 will give a good sighting.

Gawler Race 11
#1 NICK'S FOLLY should prove too speedy for these from the inside draw. Doesn't run spectacular times, but should ping to the lead and be hard to beat. The #4 is the only danger as may challenge for the lead, but struggles to make the distance.

If you can get $2 for NICK's FOLLY then you are shopping well!

Easy winner after leading all the way. $2.10 on the tote is nice overs.

Horsham Race 3
#2-4-7-8 ----------- The money has come for PATSY JAY who tends to lead early then fall back sharply. Was well backed at betfair early with around $900 matched at $6!

Money was right. Pinged and led all the way. Not so good for me. Or the punter who layed at 6s for a fair amount.
It is also interesting to note that with the late money coming for PATSY JAY, that you were getting good prices on the exotics. Quinella 2-6 ($18) Quinella 5-6 ($34)

Although the only favourable exotic that PATSY JAY held, was the exacta (5-2 $10.60) (2-5 $11.50)

With such large swings on a particular runner, it takes a while for those watching to filter their bets down into the exotics. So a late firming favourite (6s into 3s) it provided plenty of value in the exotics, for those who were able to nab a winner (not me)

Something to watch for when thinking about exotics.

#1,2,7 TRI should go well. Not even close. The winner was well backed on betfair. With a punter getting a good slice $2.26 while SLEEVES #7 was traded at almost double the tote price.

BENDIGO Race 1 545m Maiden

#2 KNOCKERS REVENGE has raced over this trip recently, but found plenty of bother from the middle draws. Can lead this field to the first bend. Has enough race experience to prove hard to beat here.

#2 NATIONAL CALL is the likely leader from this draw and going by his recent Shep runs he could run this field off their legs in the early stages. I doubt whether there is anything outwide that can cross and lead here, so is sure to get a primed run.

#7 GIRRAWARRA SNAKE is drawn perfectly with no pace on her inside or outside. Has three steady runs to date including a 23.87 run over this trip last start, but had a good first split time and then found some trouble.

#1 JAIMANDY FLISSO may be all the rage here from box 1. Is yet to start inside box 4, so this might see a huge improvement with a clear run. As did win a qualy over this trip in box 8 in 23.33.

----

Can really throw in anyone here for the 4th selection to make up the quinella bet. But I am going to throw in the wide runner #5 SILENT who did lead at last start.

If you are playing betfair and looking for a win bet.

#2 NATIONAL CALL. Try $4 early on and see what happens.

Wangaratta Race 2 403m Maiden Final

The qualy run times don't show up in your TAB DFS form, so have a look at the GRV website for the formguides that show the qualy run times.

#4 WHERE CREATIVE was the quickest qualy winner in 23.17. Was his first hit-out in race conditions and his litter-mate BULL BAR LOU was also a winner in 23.66. They are in different kennel's so it will be interesting to see how they fair this time out. But they are the two to beat.

#1 DEADLY HANDSOME won his qualy in 23.25. Has had 12 race starts for 5 placings. 3/4 of those from boxes 1-2. Will need to run a similar time to that from this inside draw to figure here. But definately looks some value.

#8 WILDEST PRAIRIE is drawn well and has to be included in exotics based on consistency in times over this trip.

#4-7-1-8

Wangaratta Race 3 403m G5

#4 NOSE LIKE LAURIE is the likely favourite and should prove too strong for these here based on his times at Warragul and Ballarat. Wouldn't worry about the draw as the inside's lack early speed. Looks a nice win bet, but have a feeling could be around $2.30.

#7 BUNNY THUNDER has 2/5 placings over this trip including a win in 23.49. Looms as the main danger to #4.

#8 ROYAL GHANDI Has steady runs at Bendigo recently. Nothing to get too excited about. Can find trouble in the running. But this is a much easier task than recent races.

#1 JUST STATELY seems to enjoy racing on the rails. Have only included on that basis, as the runners outwide look hard to exclude in the quinella.

#4-7-8-1

#4 is going to be hard to beat. And if runs true to form, could win by 3-5 lengths.

Wangaratta Race 4 403m G5

Well with no GRO GO JACK in the race it certainly does open it up a bit. Finding it hard to make a case for the inside runners here. But sometimes when all the quicker dogs are boxed outwide they run themselves into trouble on the opening bend, and those on the rail just scoot through.

#5 ALWAYS FLAT OUT poses an excellent EW bet here as the Stefanos kennel have been in recent form (well only judging by the races I have seen, so not sure on actual stats). Does have 7/12 placings over this trip. Be weary though, was found to be injured when fell last start.

#7 GO ME is capable on his day and is resuming here today after a small break. Holds a definate class advantage over these.

#6 AGRO CARTER has to be included based on recent Horsham runs. Has won over this trip in 23.28.

#2 EXCEPTIONAL BOY should be in the market. So will include on that basis.

Oaksnaf, what do you think of the greyhound recorder?. I dont understand why we get charged $6 for it when you can get the form for WP off thedogs.com for nothing and its far more comprehensive. I mean the recorder doesnt even have speed maps?. I took the tight ass option of spending the $6 for the paper instead of the $60 for more ink for the printer hahaha regretting it now!.

I mean sure you can work out the speed but speed maps cant be that hard to put in the most expensive racing paper you can buy surely?. END RANT

I used to buy it a few years ago, but now only pick it up at the newsagency and briefly read the news. There are some little snippets on information that are good to read. But as far as being a form-guide with special 'tipstars' then I wouldn't recommend it at all.

Thedogs is quite sophisticated for NSW form and you are right for $0 you can get individual comments on each dog. Speed maps. More history in form for each dog and more stats.

You also get an indication as to whether they are a wide runner, or a rails runner. Which is something that SurePick analyse. As they break down each dog from which foot it begins on, to its average position off the rail in each running.

But definately. The greyhound recorder has lost its touch.

And for those with sportingbet accounts. Race 1 at Wangaratta, #8 paid $50 the place on Unitab. You don't see those odds unless it is NZ. Would have been nice to take advantage.

Race 2 and there is an $11.90 placegetter on Unitab. Upon returning to the form-guide the speed maps did show as early leader along with #3, and they ran 1,2.

These small pools are where you can really take advantage on sportingbet.

$11 for #4 for the win, while is $3-$4 everywhere else.

Didn't win. But they are huge overs.

Wangaratta Race 5
#8-5-6-7

Is quite a hard race. Could go the FIELD if taking a quaddie.

Wangaratta Race 3

STAB 7k in the win pool. #8 ROYAL GHANDI @ $4.70/$1.80
UNI 1k in the win pool. #8 ROYAL GHANDI @ $37.90/$4.30

These are incredible overs. Well MASSIVE actually. You have to get a sportingbet account which offer equal to the amount of the Unitab dividend on the greyhounds.

For anyone that wants to punt the markets, just punt in the early hours of the morning on NZ greyhounds and other early meetings. Sandown/Meadows pools mid-week are larger, so wouldn't include them as much.

EDIT:

I did forget about the maximum dividend available on sportingbet for greyhounds to be paid out is $26. Has been a while since backing anything and collecting at a high price.

Going for WINOKI here as does love racing outwide and goes well over this trip. Hasn't been racing that well of late because has found plenty of trouble against high class dogs. Favourites will come from the inside draws, and it was hard to leave out #5 in this race too.

But WINOKI may open up at a good price. Can't turn that down for a class dog. The inside dog also tends to trek wide on the opening bend. May cause some problems for other inside runners. Giving WINOKI a strong run through. Well here's hoping.

Wangaratta Race 7

#8-5-3-2

#8 GREY CHERRY is going to start short and for a good reason. Should ping out of the boxes, cross the field around the turn and power away in the straight. Might need a little bit of room to do his best. But looks good here.

#5 FAST FLASH is racing in career best form, so is hard to exclude. Have added #3 as Horsham form seems to hold up well here, while #2 goes well over this trrip with 5/17 wins and 13/17 placings.

*Trainer has 7,8,9 (all Cherry's) and the reserve from the inside draw is going to be a major threat to my exotics.

Another race where I am going to go outwide for the selections. #8 HOT TERRAIN has strong Horsham form with wins over the 336 in 19.13 and 19.42 in last two starts. Hasn't won from box 8 from 3 attempts. But is 2/2 from box 7 and does have a good winning strike with 7/18.

Should prove too speedy.

#7 SOME VIEW is going well for the Stefanos kennel and broke 27sec over the 474 here last start.
#6 GO BUDDY has claims

I like #4 too from the Stefanos kennel. Should be around the $12 mark, so is a nice price and may add somethiing to the exotics if gets in.

Casino Race 5

#1-5-6-8

Going to be hard to hold out the short priced favourite from the red, who was impressive on debut coming from the rear of the field to shoot through on the inside and win over this trip in a decent time.

A few runners come out of the same race, so its hard seeing them turning the tables this time around.
