He was possibly our worst tonight, probably a reflection of where he sits on our list. Doesn't seem to handle pressure at all, disposal is very suspect and has no defensive side to his game. Will need to work on all of these to stay in our best 22 in 2010.

Black is one of the best players in the game and has been for years, shouldn't be that big of a surprise when he plays well.

He has stagnated, he's gone ****ing backwards! What happened to all the progress he made last year?!
He's had an interrupted season but he desperately needs to work on his disposal and decision making. Horrid at the moment.

He was playing last year on a HBF. Now he plays centre and is supposedly the hard man at the stoppages. I dont think he is overly suited tot hat role.

A bad hammy stuffed him early in the season, was looking great early, then never got back into his groove, Will be in the 22 easily after a full pre season

He just wasn't ready. A real pity because honestly I believe he will be a very good player for us in time, but tonight just wasn't his night and TBH most of his year has not been what it perhaps should.
With the benefit of hindsight, we probably couldn't have done any worse if we brought Bentick in. At least he would have the body and tackling prowess at the stoppages...
But that's footy. What's done is done.

He is not your in and under type - hopefully after a full pre-season the MC will find his correct position. Like some others - improved skills will determine their longevity in the game

Some idiots think that if you go alright in the VFL then you can just stroll up to the seniors and slot in. The fact is is takes a long time to adjust to the increased pace (and the difference is massive).
Grigg was a stand out in the pre-season. He has a very good defensive side to his game, and has a long raking left foot.
Because he was half a yard off the pace, his opponent (I concur with the comments re Black and how good he is) was too good for him, and whenever he got the ball he was a tad slow to decide and execute, putting himself under pressure.
MC got this one wrong. Not sure who would have been better though.
If anyone remembers Griggs first game vs Dees, he frooze several times when he first got the ball. Clearly nerves get the better of him at times.
Continuity will be the key for Grigga but he and Robbo will be our future "in and under" brigade, and they will be very good at it. Both have defensive mindsets but can attack when required and do so very well.
I look forward to bumping this thread in April 2010.
