Grim, I have family in Mackay ,so know how little support there is for AFL up there ,so can understand the pleasure you must get from speaking with fans on this site.

I grew up on League and I never used to follow AFL much as a kid. I'm a bit of a sports nut so I kept an eye on scores but I didn't really have any passion for the game. I suppose my interest steadily grew as the Lions got better in the mid 90s, but the player I used to love watching was Wayne Carey.
When the Superleague debacle went down I turned right off League, and I suppose it was only natural that my passion filtered through to another sport. This is probably helped by the fact that the Lions were playing some exciting footy and it was getting more coverage on the tele. Then when Browny came to the club it didn't take long for him to become my new favourite player.
I suppose my love for the game grew with each premiership
and then when I discovered BigFooty it provided me with much greater exposure to the game which gave me an avenue to follow the Lions a lot more closely.
